Details, including prices, for the June event in Tarrytown were posted today at darkshadowsfestival.com. Any cousins from England who plan to attend should buy tickets as soon as possible as the event is expected to sell out.

I must confess I'm absolutely staggered that in this day and age you can only get tickets by mailing a self addressed stamped envelope with your payment.
It seems so old fashioned.

It's actually relatively close to me. Is anyone on here planning to go? I am not really sure if I am a Dark Shadows aficionado enough to truly appreciate it but it would be cool to meet people. But yes mailing your payment does seem very out of date. But perhaps they are getting in the spirit of the series.

I will be there kimalysong! Have been going since 2006 or 2007 I think...really it's fun to build visits to both L.A. and NY around them. I did the first cruise too, and even stayed at Collinwood in Newport, RI last Halloween weekend.
I agree... The antiquated registration is a pain!

I'll be there as well. Should be a blast. There're devoting a segment to Big Finish ... is anyone from the range planning to attend?

Will be good seeing you again Jeremiah....er....Joe. From, The First Mate, aka "Little Buddy"
(Inside joke...at the Seaview Terrace Halloween party, you had to dress as a dead tv star/character. I was Bob Denver as Gilligan. Joe was a very convincing Jeremiah Collins corpse, fresh from his grave, head covered in bandages, eyeball protruding....it was wonderful! You could almost hear Angelique yelling, "JEREMIAH!! Return to your grave!!!!")

Frankly there is nothing that would give me greater pleasure than to attend this. (Literally nothing. My life is now beholden to Dark Shadows.)
Sadly having just blown a massive wad of dough on the Gallifrey 2016 convention I suspect it's not going to happen.
But anyone here who can go should go and support the Big Finish contingent. Spread the word!

I am going to look into going this weekend. Not sure if it is possible financially so I will have to see what the whole thing will cost (and if there is time to send in my application.
And perhaps I should save money considering how much I spent this week on Big Finish audios.
There needs to be a Big Finish get together in the US (preferably the East Coast)

Well unfortunately I had to pay a big chunk of money to get the upper tier plan for a Doctor Who convention I am going to in November so the Dark Shadows con won't be happening this year. Still rooting for that Big Finish US get together.

I'm awfully tempted to go. But it'd be a LOT of money just to fly over, never mind anything else.
And I've never been to America before, it's all very daunting for a dainty wee ingénue like me.

If/when you get here I'll be happy to show you around NY/NJ. I'm really hoping to be able to take a trip to the UK sometime in the next 2-3 years. I've been there before, but not since I was about 16 or 17.

I hope Joe Lidster and David Darlington will be able to go to the 50th anniversary. Four or five years ago at a DS convention I saw a small group of people behind the Big Finish table, but I had only listened to a few of the audios at that point (and didn't like them!). So I didn't stop by their table. But now I would throw myself at their feet. Hmmm... I wonder who that was. Jason H-E and Stuart Manning probably.

Definitely Stuart, because I met him many times at Fests...but don't know Jason. I doubt Joe will make the trip....didn't he admit to a dislike of flying? Although I would love to meet any and all of you, and have dinner/drinks!! My friend Sue and I are the fun ones!

I just got used to it because my job demands so much of it. I suspect this year's Gally was my US trip for the year, though. I certainly can't afford another set of flights!

Maybe Joe should stop watching Dark Shadows then, it's never good when you see a car or someone is planning a flight in the world of Dark Shadows. The good news is that many of the original actors seem to have fun recording these audios and I'm sure some of the fans will bring it up too. With Blood and Fire coming out to celebrate the 50th that month, I wouldn't be surprised if that's not a major talking point at the festival. It would certainly be something new in the world of Dark Shadows to be talked about. Plus there are a lot of other productive ways to use money to market Dark Shadows audios to the world.
