I am not 100% sure on this, so take this with the intent it written, but speaking to a guy who works for some the E-Commerce stuff for good Auntie Beeb, he informs me that for a couple of months they have been testing using other markets via the internet, one being Ebay and the other Amazon, and essenitally reducing their own costs, by marketing and selling either through these as a business vendor or associate.

Unless I'm misreading the emails I received today it would seem I only had one item from each of my two orders cancelled: one non-Who DVD and one Who book. So not as bad as I feared, and I'll easily pick up both elsewhere in time for similar prices. I had two, so I only got one of three items in my order.

I've been quite obsessively watching the DVD's going out of stock. Poor old original release of the Visitation was the last to go.
Of course we do still have some classic stories in packages with nu stories, so I'm still watching to see which of them is last to go. It's between Tomb of the Cybermen, the Daleks, Terror of the Autons, Time Warrior and Genesis of the Daleks.

I think it will be The Davros Collection with Genesis of the Daleks because it's the most readily available separately on other sites. The Master Collection will be the first to go because Terror of the Autons is only available in the Mannequin Mania set and that's no good unless you want another Spearhead From Space DVD.

I agree about the Master, but my money's on the Sontarans to be longest lasting as Time Warrior was also available as a single and in Bred for War. Of course Time Warrior as a single disc release selling for more money than this sold out before this did, so consumers don't always research their purchases too thoroughly.

I can't see many going for The Dalek Collection either.

Beneath the Surface is hard to find, if better value than Mannequin Mania, and as a one-off purchase I'd have picked Silurians over Autons, on the basis of the higher episode count if nothing else.

Davros, Cybermen and Sontarans to go, but they might actually outlast the shop at this rate.

Sadly, that's what people do: buy discounts at knock-down prices from closing down sales only to sell them for twice the price when they go out of stock.
