It's all in the title, what places and/or times would you like the Doctor to visit?
Personally I'd like to see a story set in New Zealand. If it's for TV Peter Jackson has shown an interest in directing, what could be Weta? There's a rich history. A story could be the Doctor inspiring a young Michael King (famous historian, wrote a book called The History of New Zealand and died about fifteen years ago) to pursue an interest in history. The Treaty of Waitangi being a fixed point in time perhaps? Prime material for a historical.
A story set at a convention. A good chance to get all meta and an opportunity to get the Doctor or companion to have a doppelganger in one of the convention guests. There haven't been many doppelganger stories in the past few years (there was the second Tenth Doctor back in Journey's End in 2008).
Somewhere we haven't seen the Doctor before, exploring the local culture. China perhaps, or Japan. Somewhere highly evocative that isn't the UK or drizzly Wales. Somewhere that can generate an amazing soundscape.

I want to see the Doctor visit Scarborough. It's a beautiful seaside town and therefore one that lends itself to a lot of wonderful shots. There's so many locations they could use too: the beach itself, Scarborough Castle, Peasholm Park....
(Although I am a bit biased considering I live there.)

I'd like to see them attempt a more or less straight historical, as BF has done.
Perhaps around the assassination of McKinely or attempted assisination of T.Roosevelt.

The Doctor at Woodstock, of course. Or Glastonbury.

I can't remember where it was but in one of the writers notes (paraphrased from memory) Nick Briggs joked about always being accused of trying to blow up or destroy the Isle Of Wight in his stories, but as far as I know the Island has never featured in a story, this may just be my childhood talking (I went there at least once a year, every year until I was 14, the Island has its charms but there's only so many times you can visit Blackchang Chine...) but I'd rather like to hear the Sea Devils invade Ryde or Sandown at some point...
