"I’ve been a little distracted by other Big Finish duties of late — not least an adaptation of H.G. Wells’s War of the Worlds — so I really must head back to the Village" Nic said this in his monthly Prisoner report. Is this the Everybody else adaptation,or something separate?

I missed that comment, but my thought is, why the heck would BF do one, when many of their associates were working on one as well?

Perhaps Nick isn't working on one for Big Finish? I bet Big Finish could do an outstanding job of it though.

You know though I swear hearing or reading that they do have some of the HG Wells stuff. I can't recall where though.

I'd certainly be interested if Big Finish were to do an adaptation of The War of The Worlds for the classics range. It seems right up their alley.

I did mention this in my BF Day 8 notes. They are doing four* big HG Wells novels as it is almost all out of copyright. I asked David Richardson if that was the whole scope, he said yes.
*Time Machine, War of the Worlds, Invisible Man, Island of Doctor Moreau I think, but I could make a case for Shape of Things to Come and First Men in the Moon

Nick's mentioned in the past BRIAN BLESSED said he was interested in being involved in an audio adaption of War of the Worlds. That'd need a warning on cover, "Read by BRIAN BLESSED". I'd still love to hear BRIAN BLESSED in a Big Finish. I'd love to hear any audio with the performances containing enough ham to end world hunger (except for the vegetarians of course). Cast the loudest, most bombastic actors they can get and let 'em rip. Apologies if mass deafness occurs.

H. G. Wells died in 1946, and the UK honors copyright until 70 years after an author's death, so Wells' works will enter public domain in the UK next year.
