So that failed.
Why BF can't manage this, I do not know, I know I'm not the only person to have this happen to them.

Not meant to sound rude but why do you want gift vouchers!
What's wrong with cash, it's worked for hundreds of years.
There is absolutely no reason ever for gift vouchers, trust me I used to work at the uk's largest printer & redeemer of them, before tech took over.
The unredeemed vouchers is almost 2/5ths ridiculous.
Remember cash is always King.

Don't know how likely it is I'd still have the money by the time we get such an item, but I've always wished we had them for occasionally gifting the person on the forum who can't afford the audio for this week's listen-through or the person who's really stuck on the fence about trying an audio or a range. I can think of at least a half dozen times I've wished I could make a gift purchase or buy a gift certificate for another BF customer the last several years.
Could be more trouble than it's worth for them to implement, but it might be a way for them to bring in a few extra dollars from people who've already bought the whole catalog? Plus it does seem to commit funds to BF purchases immediately whereas cash you could still spend on other things?

Honestly While gift vouchers would be cool what Id really want is the ability to send gifts of downloads of Big Finish products to friends. That would be great.

And I agree its time it was option especially if the 10th Doctor Adventers do attract even more customers which is what the DWM Article screams BF want them to do.
EDIT
The functionality's halfway there with the free EP codes with the BF Newsletter BF just need to able to offer codes in exchange for money say in £15 £20 £50 £100 values.
luckily I can budget for my BF purchases fairly well.

The trouble with that is, you overseas guys get a much better deal on downloads than us in uk, so we could all get Aus friends to gift and it would be approx half price. BF would not be in business long if that happened Then there is the location tax minefield. lets be honest, they are still a small company(with a big title but niche product) with out major resources to carry out all this stuff, we are lucky that the download system is so good for such a small company sometimes we expect too much, would we really want to pay more for all these things because that's really the only way they will happen.

If they were so worried people would try to trick the system like that (have to say this didn't even cross my mind. I guess I am just that innocent) then they can make gifts only in UK currency.

Then add the taxes for the download location, i really cannot imagine that many people using it to justify the cost nice idea, but like gift vouchers just don't think it would be used by enough to justify the outlay for BF sorry to sound like a grump

My GF wouldn't give me cash, ever, buying me gifts is OK, but giving me cash is just something she will never do, just her thing.

I didn't, if I had been asked I would have said "they don't do them", but I wasn't, I was told instead "BF don't do gift vouchers, I bought you something else."

It's on a rather lengthy to-do list, so it's something Big Finish want to do but haven't had the time or resources to implement yet. With the heavy workload at the moment, I wouldn't hold my breath. Considering Big Finish is a small company in a niche market it's doing very well.

I've been wishing for this almost as long as I've been listening to BF. I've been wanting to spread the word about BF by giving gift vouchers to friends. As niche as their market it, I can think of so many people who would like SOMETHING on BF. If not Doctor Who, then The Prisoner, or some of the Classics, or Sherlock Holmes, etc. I agree that it would be a great way to expand their base.

I have tried spreading the word, buy buying people BF CD's, not a great success one brought it back to me saying it was faulty as there was no picture on his DVD...(honestly that happened) on explain that it was just audio, the pulled face told me it was not the gift for them. I bought Sherlock for a friend who loves Sherlock Holmes......on asking if she liked them was told....no that man playing Sherlock is awful, was like having hedgehogs in my ears, sorry but binned them, but nice thought! final one was bought TLATE as a extra special thank you to a friend for helping me out, 2 weeks later there it was in the charity shop, un-opened for £2 just goes to show that just because you love it others don't, save your heartache ask them what they want or give em cash.

Every time it comes up at BF day (OK twice) Nick explains that the actual demand is very low. Of course it would also mean a website change

And they don't know what the demand is, they only know how how many people bothered to e-mail or otherwise contact them about it, not how many just shrugged and went away.

Don't forget when they did gift vouchers many moons ago, no one bought any! Just like the first batch of t-shirts no one bought, even though people at conventions said they wanted them. i thought the website has had it's tweets for now, with the banner changes, ditching the pointless welcome box etc. Also on Facebook they said that there was no plans for a wish list as that required a major website redesign but was some thing for the future if they do a redesign. But maybe I got the wrong end of the stick

I do think the statements people made sounded loke there were more substantial website changes in the pipeline though, although such th8ngs can take a very long time. There was a comment recently for example about them considering doctor specific subscriptions, which would have to wait for a website revamp.

It was perhaps 10 years or more since they sold them, both BF and thier customer base were very different beasts back then, I'm not at sure the experience from then has any relevance to today. Certainly I know for 100% certain they would sell 4 to 5 vouchers a year that ended up with me. I'm often asked what do I want, and I always wish I could say BF vouchers. I used to always say the BBC audiobooks thing that went bust, now I just ask for Amazon vouchers.

If this sounds sarcastic it's not supposed to, but can't you just tell her which BF product to get and she just buys that. Cut out the unavailable voucher-shaped middle-man?
