Funny I could've sworn there were a few posts on the old Forum when it came out that it spoiled Talons by hearing Butcher first.

I know some people go in blind, no looking at the promotional material, reading cast and synopsis, seeing the cover, listening to the trailer, you know that sort of thing. But generally the majority of people I see here and have seen on the old forum use the marketing information to inform the decision of whether to buy the story or not. This is the news story announcing The Butcher of Brisbane (dated 13th January 2012), headlined "FIFTH FIGHTS MAGNUS GREEL". A week later the news story about the casting of Greel stated "TALONS PREQUEL" in the headline (link here). I'm sure that when Butcher of Brisbane was brought up in podcasts from that time the link to Talons was in there somewhere. Even the advert for the trilogy in DWM didn't hesitate to connect Talons to the audio. I Completely agree with you jbmasta but read the Spoiler Policy Thread when it comes to spoilers its fast becoming a rock and a hard place situation.

Mod here and I agree with JBMasta if says it in the actual Big Finish synopsis snd promotional material we wouldn't consider that a spoiler. Maybe if it is announced casually on a podcast but not anywhere else that would still be a spoiler. But this is an extreme example of being a spoilerphobe Mark and that is not really what that thread was discussing

Happy Birthday Peter, but I just got a $1,200 plumbing and home repair bill. The Common Men will have to wait for a less disastrous month.

I wouldn't consider that a spoiler for the reason jbmasta cited. When it came out people were freely discussing on the forum that it was a Talons prequel and I don't recall anyone complaining that it spoiled the story for them. And I don't feel that I have to announce I'm also a mod when saying this. I'm not sure how the story works for someone who never saw Talons, but for me, it was good to go back and re-watch, as I didn't remember details and kept trying to remember how certain plot points in Butcher of Brisbane related to Talons of Weng Chiang. Which is why I went back and re-watched after listening to the story and then listened to the story again.

Ha Ha I guess I just wanted to assure people they aren't going to get in trouble because they don't spoiler tag every little thing. I just had my mod hat on. It's usually off. Although we aren't going to police every thread looking for spoilers. New releases yes because there are places to go that are spoiler friendly. But with the older releases it has to be up to each person's discretion. But as I said on that other thread I hope people are considerate of others and will try to tag when something may ruin a surprise for someone.

The jury is still out on the coolant leak so I decided I couldn't pass up this sale . I bought Emerald Tiger, Jupiter Conjunction, Butcher of Brisbane, Lady of Mercia and Prisoners of Fate. I had the rest. Cheers Tony
