It's a nice completion on a good story.
I still have issues with the split release nature of the story.
But a v good tale. Worthy of comparison to green death!

Much better than the pervious one. Just my usual little irritation with the 4DA's lately still though "is Romana Bothered".

I think Romana is as bothered about aliens as she was on TV. ..

I think Romana is as bothered about aliens as she was on TV. .. I know it just seems really noticeable on the 4DA's example in this one with K9 in the opening scene I kept wishing he'd go "Cease self-opinionated interjections and allow this Unit to complete its summary Mistress"

I enjoyed it even if some of the characters got treated a bit bluntly

Very enjoyable - maybe my favorite of the 4DA releases so far. I just wish it had been released as a single release with The Paradox Planet or that there was an option to buy both releases as a single release, even if it's at a higher price compared to the regular 4 part releases in the Main Range. I don't hold that against the actual story - just a bit of a personal gripe.

That was really good - another story by Jonathan Morris where everything is very well balanced (the important elements of seriousness and levity in particular here, it seemed) and the complexities present are deftly handled to give an eventful story yet one that isn't overly complicated. All that and still a socially relevant story that skillfully puts a spotlight on the absurdity of events as well. Very nicely done!! Really enjoyed Tom's performances in this pair of stories in particular also.

Good that this story addressed, dealt with and moved on from the chicken and egg nature of the temporal conflict, getting the cause after seeing the event. Not so much time to play with as many ideas as Paradox Planet, but still at least the internal consistency regarding the different time zones was maintained. Poor K9 is definitely due in for an overhaul, at this point he's at least two thousand years old! No wonder his battery dies faster if that's his lifespan (the warranty is out of the question for sure!).

I really enjoyed this, and have really enjoyed this series so far. Although I much prefer the four-part, two-disc stories, I must admit the pacing for the three tales so far has been near perfect. The first two stories wouldn't perhaps have stretched over four episodes (although I maintain 'The Labyrinth of Buda Castle' contained enough interesting points to benefit from expansion), whereas the ideas presented here are far more suited to a longer running time. I love the supporting cast (although Drang appeared to address his assistant as M'dear to my ears!), and I genuinely never got an impression that Romana sounded at all disinterested in events. Her exasperation with The Doctor echoed what we got on television, as I recall - and Tom seemed to be having a great time, which is always entertaining to hear.

Very very pleased thus far with S5. Another really good one.
The complexity of the storyline in terms of who is doing what in which time zone was handled perfectly. It could have really dragged the story down had it not been. But everything made sense and was easy to follow.

Brilliant follow up to The Paradox Planet which proves yet again 4 parters work better than the 2 part 60 minute format.

Did anyone else find Tom Chadbon's Embery sounding like Geoffrey Beevers' The Master?

Four stories in and season 5 continues to be an excellent season. This story is well handled and all the elements come together nicely in the conclusion. I'll definitely be listening again when I can put both halves together in a two hour block.
