Did anyone else find Tom Chadbon's Embery sounding like Geoffrey Beevers' The Master? Up until he was SPOILER, I was fully expecting "my dear Doctor, don't you remember? Embery is the Etruscian word for Master"

Nice conclusion to the story started in The Paradox Planet. All that time switching back and forth started to get a little complicated.

Excellent story, and very appropriate for our time, especially the end.
I can't help feeling that if Drang hadn't killed Embery but sent him back, that the whole situation Era 24 were in would not have happened. The Zeenox wouldn't have been 'stolen' and therefore used for clean energy and the planet wouldn't have been polluted. But that would have meant changing the past so... but still, a bit of a self-fulfilled doo-dah IMHO.

I think that’s rather the point, other than the Doctor, Romana and K9 no one was exactly right or exactly wrong in their actions….that said the future people were perhaps more active in their “not rightedness” then the past people (and in many ways responsible for their own fates).
