In this weeks Podcast there was a brief update no the 3rd Doc
Next Volume of 3rd Doctor Adventure starring Tim Trelore is due for production in June directed by Nick Briggs and no plans yet to recast the Master, however if enough people asked for it, it would be considered.
So slowly but surely 3rd Doc fans.
EDIT
Breaking news for 3rd Doc Short Trips
August title will be read by Tim Trelore

That would have to be the first Ahort Trips read by a Doctor surely? In the DL Only series yes but the 1st 4 series on CD and DL had stories read by Peter Davison and Colin Baker.

Very pleased to hear Volume 02 is in the works! And I think I'll be giving August's Short Trip a listen as well!

I'm glad there's more to come soon from Big Finish's Third Doctor, I look forward to it! I wonder if he would ever feature in a story with the 'new' Unit and meet Kate Stewart?

Not bothered about Vol.2 as the 3DA range doesn't interest me, but the August Short Trips story will definitely be on my list as that is a range that I have a lot of time for, so I won't miss out on that Third Doctor story. I hope it's good, but two Third Doctor ST releases in a row is certainly something that I am looking forward to.

Since the third Doctor has had the least new content from BF, I hope that they put off something like this for a long time to give us more stories that fit the tone and feel of his era before feeling the need to crossover with the new series.

But we're getting so few stories from the 3da range anyway that anything extra would be a bonus, surely. Just like the short trip Tim is doing. My thinking is that if perhaps the ability to get Katy and Richard and Tim together is slowing down production this gives us a way to get a 3da cameo in elsewhere.

I think after a few years of Jo stories, they should just recast Sarah Jane and Liz. Since Three is a recast anyway, it wouldn't seem too out of place to recast his companions.

I think it'll be a while before BF recasts the Brig, Liz and Sarah - after all, the three of them only passed away in 2011 and 2012.
I mean, I guess Caroline John's husband still works for Big Finish (as their most prolific Master) so I'm sure he'd have an opinion. Not that it's the type of question that should ever be asked at a convention or anything, but I wonder if the topic has ever come up between friends and colleagues at a recording.

The problem is, its really hard to represent the Third Doctor era without the Brigadier. Sure, he wasn't in every single episode, but he was still a constant throughout Three's time on the show. The TV show has already had the Brigadier return as a tribute to Nicholas Courtney. I don't think recasting him in audio would be any more disrespectdul than the Cyberigadier.

hoping for series of six, two disk tales For the love of god, why? THey've shown with the 4DAs that this is a horrible horrible idea. I'd much rather two four parters or a four parter / six parter or something.
