It also fails to recognise that some stories have a framing sequence set sometime after the body if the story - especially Panic and The Curse of Shurafa. These two stories show on the timeline as happening at the time of the framing sequences...

I'm afraid that's again down to my preference to prioritizing the framing sequence when organizing my chronology listen-throughs :/

Avoided looking at the original post for fear of spoilers (I'm only up to near the end of the 1795 storyline still, hopefully will be on to the next one by the end of the weekend), but is there any sort of purchase order for the audios included to listen without spoilers for future points in the show?

I'm afraid that's again down to my preference to prioritizing the framing sequence when organizing my chronology listen-throughs :/ In many respects, it depends on whether you are listening for the first time or re-listening. The framing sequence of Panic is more firmly in my mind than that of Shurafa, and it would colour your first listening to Bloodlust too much by casually mentioning plot points from late in Bloodlust - but if you were listening through Quentin's story chronologically, you'd want to hear Panic first. We're lucky we can easily re-listen to things in many orders these days - unlike those who watched Dark Shadows on TV 50 years ago...

Oof, what an enormous task Trying to cross-reference plot points in all 1225 episodes of the TV series with mentions in the audios would be! Good luck in trying to watch the series and listening to the audios and avoiding any spoilers from one to the other! When I was doing both at the same time, I just didn't worry about spoilers. Some things mentioned in audios completely sailed over my head and I later realised what had been referenced when I reached the relevant point in the series. All I can say is there's no attempts to maliciously spoil things, you're in the hands of fans who want you to enjoy all of DS!

UPDATED cast list and chronology in the first post on this thread. As always, SPOILERS are minor in this timeline, as it's very general...but for those who avoid ANY type of spoiler, please be warned!

I don’t get too hung up on timelines I just enjoy audio drama and am interested In How well the tale is told. The fitting in of chronology comes later.I just finished Crimson Pearl last night and that gave me a rough idea of origins of DS and did Blood and Fire a while back. The tales are all excellent that I have listened to .

I enjoy reading the posts and am not afraid of spoilers,I just enjoy the writers and the actors and the tale being told how it all fits in I leave till later down the line.It is great that DS has such a history to fall back on(just like Dr WHo) but I dont let it spoil the fun that is DS.

I think Dark Shadows works very well that way if it must. It's amazing how much is online nowdays, but some storylines I saw on TV about 25 years ago, others I saw on rented video about 15 years ago. Then I started buying DVDs about 7 years ago after waiting forever for some of the earliest and latest stories to be offered by our rental service, and I hadn't even heard of the very earliest episodes being available until I'd seen most everything else - but it was every bit worth watching in whatever order I could, and loads of fun to wonder what I was still missing on a show where anything can happen. I will say I enjoyed it even more going through the whole series again in proper order (good excuse to watch it all again) :-) but it certainly wasn't necessary to in order to really enjoy the show. Likewise with the audios, I just bought them in whatever order suited me rather than in strict order and still revisit them mostly according to random moods, although occasionally having another listen in a particular order is also a great experience.

I have a few epsisodes from a release a while back of the Barnabas episodes which refreshed what I had seen online decades ago lol...A good audio drama for me is one that can stand on its own while remaining true to established history of the show.

Hi Trace... It seems I'd lost track of Divergent U. but I found it from an old link, imagine that!. ANYWAY, I just wanted to say THANK YOU once again for the Chronology creation and updates! (I also lost track of listening to my purchased (WWIT?) audios, so I'll be interested to see how they line up! The Short Stories that is... altho I do need to go back and give all the past recordings a re-listen. ) WwIT - What was I thinking.

Updated audio timeline and audio cast list through the most recent release, Tony & Cassandra 2.
And giving it a “bump”. All ready for me to add Bloodline!

This forum allows for attachments, so I'm wondering if for the future it may be easier/better to attach the chronology in PDF format? I use a MacBook, so I unfortunately don't have it as MSWord doc. I have it as a MAC Pages doc--anyone know if Pages would be universally readable? Or would the PDF be better, because I can easily make one. Just to let you know: It appears that any attachments were removed when the forum hit its attachment limit, so maybe better to link them from an offsite location such as Google docs or similar.

Thank you Ela! I keep updating it in the first post of this thread, and didn’t even know the attachments were gone. I think the current way must work ok for people....no one has asked for a link or pdf. Will see if that changes, and can certainly do that if needed.
