Neve Mackintosh and Richard Hope have joined Series 5 of Survivors good news on its own merit, however in the piece was this:
This will actually be Neve’s second role for Big Finish. But what was the first? Ah, you’ll have to wait for that announcement!’
So could this mean that post 2005 Silurians and or the Paternoster Gang are on the way?

The Paternoster Gang has got to be a matter of when, not if. I'm personally looking forward to it greatly.

I don't see what else it could be other than Neve McIntosh returning as Madam Vastra on audio. My guess is either:
A: Jago & Litefoot & Strax & Vastra Too B: Paternoster Gang spinoff C: A box set with each of the Paternoster Gang's first meetings with the Doctor - maybe a different incarnation for each D: The Paternoster Gang or just Madam Vastra in an upcoming main range Doctor Who audio drama

I hope so. The Silurians were always a great concept, but they just looked and sounded stupid in the Classic Series.

Another possibility is that the 2005 Silurians will be appearing in Classic Doctors, New Monsters Volume 2 box set. I mean, they did it for the 2005 Sontarans, so why not the Silurians?
That being said, I certainly hope it's the Paternoster Gang spinoff/team-up with Jago and Litefoot we're all waiting for!

I'd be happy with a classic Doctor Vastra origin story

I'd be happy with a classic Doctor Vastra origin story The 4th Doctor and Madam Vastra would be a brilliant team-up.

I'm really not a fan of the modern Silurian designs (I miss the third eye and the reptilian vocals), but a Vastra origin story sounds marvellous.

I would love to get a story where the Fourth Doctor (or any pre-Smith Doctor for that matter) meets Madam Vastra, but I think it would be better as a one off release. Not all fans of Classic Who like NuWho so if all of Tom Baker's stories suddenly had a NuWho character those people would be discouraged from subscribing. Also I'd like to see what Big Finish can do with a completely new Fourth Doctor companion.
Still, Vastra's first meeting with the Doctor sounds like a very good idea to me. Didn't Steven Moffat once say he intentionally left gaps in some of his characters' stories so Big Finish could fill them in?

I'm really not a fan of the modern Silurian designs (I miss the third eye and the reptilian vocals), but a Vastra origin story sounds marvellous. Problems I have with the new Silurian design: * Loss of third eye (some lizards do 'ave 'em) * Iris / eyes no longer reptilian, but just human-looking * Teeth are mammalian, not reptilian * And, er... breasts, a trait found only in mammals. Hence, the name mammals, which literally means "breasty" in Latin. And the Doctor calling them "Homo reptilia" shows an utter lack of understanding on the writers' part concerning scientific nomenclature and evolution. But I could rant for days... Still, I like the Vastra character, and we've already had a UNIT / Silurian story. Perhaps the UNIT series after next will have new series Silurians?

Wasn't Homo-reptilia from an old Third Doctor novel?

Still, on audio you can disregard most of those so much more easily. The voice is more of a problem.

Maybe Vastra's half human on her mother's side?

Maybe Vastra's half human on her mother's side? I'm pretty sure that humans weren't really around when Vastra was born.
