To be fair - the agents might not have got the audiobook/audio drama difference there. Equally, Big Finish do put all of their releases under the Audiobooks tag on the BF website, so it's understandable if others don't get the distinction between the different audio formats.

I think BF tend to use the word "audiobook" (often qualified as "full-cast audiobook") themselves because a lot of people don't actually understand what an audio drama is.

The lack of distinction from an audio book and an audio drama is a pet peeve of mine. I don't know why it makes me so annoyed. It's like how my mother insists that DVDs, Blu-rays, 4Ks etc are all "CDs" and that my childhood video games were "Sega tapes."

I'm off to spin a Sega tape on my Nintendo."

I’m sure I read somewhere that she and him really get on and we all know how much she enjoys playing Iris Wildthyme.

I would certainly expect that to be the format for the range. I also suspect this range is why we haven't had any Short Trips news for 2021 yet

There may be some original fiction Audiobook DLs in the works Regards mark687 I'm guessing it's three of the existing 'Iris Wildthyme' books.
Partly because of the clue 'one of my favourite writers', partly because somehow it sounds to me as if the books are books we already know (guesswork on my part but does 'recorded results' imply the results ie. books are already out there? EDIT : Any book with Iris is definitely "out there" )
And partly because I really want it to be true!
Whatever, pre-order incoming. If it's the 1971-73 editions of BBC radio weather reports for coastal stations, I'll still buy them. It's Katy and like tuigirl says, she's a fantastic reader.

The latest podcast confirms that there ARE audiobooks in the works, because David Richardson specifically states that the script for one 10/River audio had been repurposed from a planned 'talking book'.

That's an interesting distinction to make. It was implied in Vortex that it had been repurposed from a Chronicles release, if I remember rightly.
