PHEW!
Just bought the cd physical versions of "The Prisoner" #2 and #3 before it becomes midnight 27th Feb to take advantage of the "up to 50% off" $ale.
I have just noticed that the X 2 charges us non UK'ers are charged have increased. "Postage & Packing AUST $11.13" and "Per Order Charge AUST $12.06". With this $ale the cd versions are cheaper then the digital- I had to take advantage!
Overall di$count AUST $61.22

You paid £3 shipping for each box set and then £6.50 for the per order charge - same as always. And, Big Finish obviously preferentially priced the physical media at a lower cost than the equivalent downloads in order to liquidate the CDs. That said, congratulations on your purchase!

I have receipts from other purchases from late last year, both those charges were lower.
I pretty much am at the stage where I can wait for the specials unless it's a new release which I am hanging out for (eg pre ordering all the 9th & 10th Dr's on cd and vinyl) .

Well...we'll just have to see what Whovitt has to say about this. He'll be our arbitrator.

I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing that I'm the go-to guy for this sort of thing, but I'll roll (or is that role?) with it At time of writing, currency conversion according to the website www.xe.com (which the Big Finish site says is their method for currency conversion) says that the AU$12.06 per order charge is equivalent to £6.50, and the shipping price of AU$11.13 is equivalent to £6. Anyone can check for themselves on the website. The reason it *looks* more expensive since your last purchase is that the AUD has been falling and/or the Pound has been rising (I don't follow the stock market so I'm not sure which, but either or both will be responsible for this), so the currency conversions between the two have become larger. I honestly don't think I've made two purchases since Sept 2016 (when they first introduced the per order charge) where the charge has been the same, as the conversion rate changes practically every single day by a cent or two

I have 2 petrol station across the road and down a bit from me- same exact company, 24cents a litre difference on Friday when u-know-who decided to start a war with their neighbouring country .
Fascinating how this conversation has escalated LOLZ.!

I wouldn't say it's escalated. I was just asked to provide my opinion, which was that there hadn't been a change

Pre-ordered Eighth of March 2 and took a punt on Peladon whilst it’s still on pre-order price. I said I’d wait on reviews, and the reviews seem to be glowing so I’m putting my money where my mouth is.

preordered Doctor of War, Brave New World (and from Anderson Entertainment) the physical edition of Monster from the Deep
earlier this week I tracked down one of the Big Finish books I was missing (at a reasonable price) so I should have a "surprise" (or a number of them) on the way

Torchwood: Torchwood One: Nightmares. Could available castmembers be dwindling? It seems that way. Luckily, we still have Tracy-Ann Oberman Gareth David-Lloyd.
Doctor Who: The Fourth Doctor Adventures Series 11: Solo. Series 11 of 4DAs - who would have thought?

" The Big Finish Companion: Volume 2" . Initially it's about 50% off, once I processed and bought, I compared with the "distinguished competition" also based in UK, was only approx AUST $11 cheaper. Hopefully volumes 3, 4 and 5 in the future..!

Have fallen off Holmes purchases because I still haven't gotten around to listening to any of the ones I have (not sure I can afford things I may never find time to listen to) but I couldn't resist getting Seamstress of Peckham Rye at the Audie Award sale price.

2nd Dr CCs vol 3 B7 Heroes & Villains
Not too happy at how BF announced 4 April releases* in the month of Feb. I need a bit more notice if I am to get all my pre-orders in. This flurry of April announcements blew a hole in my April budget and has required a bit of re-arranging.
Cost of the 4 April releases announced in Feb for me as a UK CD buyer is £80 (or £98 if I get the Unbound bundle). At a time when we are all facing rises in our fuel, light & heat, and food bills etc. I think it is in BF's own best interests to announce as early as possible and give potential customers as much notice as possible if they want to encourage pre-orders.
* I am counting 2nd Dr CCs as an announcement of an April release because, although the set was announced long ago, the release date was only announced in Feb.

Absolutely agree i think the move to have The 4th Doctor Adventures in Pre-Order Years in Advanced is honestly a pretty smart move and i wonder if they will announce the 2025-2027 Run of 4DAs with Sarah Jane? got to get my CD Orders in

Unfortunately BF seem to hang on their every word and treat their opinions as gospel. We obviously don't see the sales figures and pre-order levels, so we can't say if they are right or wrong, but I'm not sure if hype and interest necessarily equates to sales. Plus, what was good advice in a relatively favourable economic climate when people had a bit more spare cash for impulse purchases may not be such a good advice when there is a cost of living crisis. But that's just my opinion.

Are these the same Marketing "Experts" which convinced Big Finish to change their slogan from "We Love Stories" to "For The Love of Stories" and add Insider to The Big Finish Twitter Account?
