Babylon 5. You can't pay me enough to watch that tripe. Farscape. But mainly because the puppets just didn't work for me, I kept getting chucked out of the story by their awfulness. As I said in the Fandoms Your Part of Thread if you can make it past the first series of B5, series 2-4 are excellent, you could skip most of series 5 though.

I've had that said to me before but I object on principle to skipping an entire season to get to the "good bit", that's just bad tv.

The problem with season 5 is that it finished in season 4...
Anyway...
I've never done. Grimm. Supernatural
All sport.

It's a bit formulaic and needs some work, but it's getting better. Generally with Supernatural you'll find some people jumping in at season 4 because that's where Castiel comes in, but they miss some amazing episodes like What Is And What Should Never Be. I can understand if Supernatural seems daunting to start watching at this point, having just finished its eleventh season and a twelfth one underway.

If I watch a show, does that make me automatically part of it's fandom? I don't think so.

The first two years are at best uneven and at worse mutilations of otherwise brilliant ideas and the last year can be pretty much regarded as a write-off. Despite that, it's regarded as one of the most influential science-fiction television series of the 1990s. You could throw Deep Space Nine and Stargate SG-1 into that same sphere as well. Even Doctor Who isn't immune, Season 24 is regarded in some circles as some of the worst the series has put out, yet that same group praise the two years that came afterwards for their quality. It seems like a waste to disregard a whole era or series just because it had teething problems.

Well, I'll agree re TNG DS9 and SG1 in that they are uneven and so on, but for me, unlike the aformentioned shows, B5 is just sh*t. As for Who 24? It's weaker than other seasons but it's still not The Horns of Nimon! (though I have a senaking regard for that, mainly due to Soldeed)

Same too as for Farscape, I enjoyed both of them immensely. Ah, well.

I remember hating ds9 when it was on... but years later it was on sky 1 every day.
It is much better watched as a daily soap.
And b5... I adored it. But it was basically lord of the rings in space.... And crossroads.
