7 Seconds, a decent Wesley Snipes action time waster.

Just watched "The Shed" and "Alligator" - both pretty much self explanatory cheesy horrors

Dolittle (2020)
First I feel I must explain my history with the character, I have very fond childhood memories of watching the Red Harrison film and I even once upon a time read the first of Hugh Lofting’s Dr Dolittle stories for a reading passport. (Probably showing my age here..)
All that into consideration, I found this film utterly baffling with some bizarre choices. Not to mention Mr Downey Jr’s frankly indecipherable accent. And I know I’m just shouting in the wind here but I found the celebrity voice cast distracting more than anything. Aside from a few noticeable exceptions.

This evening I've watched 'A Bucket Full Of Blood', which was better than I was expecting.

Night of the Big Heat.
I like horror films, and it's always good to discover a film you haven't seen before. Especially when Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee are in it. And especially when it features 'additional dialogue' by none other than Pip and Jane Baker (perhaps they should have renamed it Night of the Big Words instead). Sadly, it's a bit of a plodder, and not Terence Fisher's finest hour - he was always amazing with the horrors he directed, but his skirmishes with horror/sci-fi weren't in the same league - although he makes good use of the picturesque locations. I have a certain empathy for this sweaty bunch, suffering in the artificial heat of the story - I'm sitting here with all the windows open!

I have the 5 "Phantasm" movies lined up and ready to smash through today. It's 8:45am.. I have to take a few breaks through the day .. Wife and child won't get home till about 8pm tonight.. LOCK AND LOAD time.. Wife doesn't like horrors at all in the same vein as I have been a lifelong lover of them, and obviously Jnr can't watch them with me- I take my opportunities when I can LOL. I am doped up to the gills on Tramadol for the pain- here ... we... go...
EDIT: Watched the 1st two.. wow.. plot, script, acting, the holes in the script.. 3 more to go !

Watched back through a bunch of the Carry Ons lately. Cheap laughs, but sometimes, that's all you want.

The Fattest Man in Britain (2009)
Written by the late Caroline Aherne, Timothy Spall gives us a very poignant performance as the wonderfully charming (and extremely rotund) Georgie Godwin.
Hardly a surprise that Timothy Spall is great though. As far as I’m concerned, when it comes to acting the man can do no wrong.

Moon with my sister last night (she had never seen it). Earlier today I did both halves of Kill Bill. At college, the film/media classes were taken on a trip to see a preview of 'Moon' a few days before its release (I think with a little Q&A afterwards with the director, though I might be mistaking it for 'Exam'). I remember liking it when I saw it, though don't recall seeing it again since (you know what? I think I might give it another shot tomorrow night ). 'Kill Bill' is another on my 'to watch' list, so might set some time aside next week to try and watch both halves together.

Watched back through a bunch of the Carry Ons lately. Cheap laughs, but sometimes, that's all you want. These movies were popular back in the "English comedy heyday" in Australia in the 70's and up to early 80's.. Carry On, Benny Hill, Kenny Everett etc.. great stuff.

About to turn on "It 2" . Finally getting around to finishing the remake.
Well.. that was a surprisingly emotional ending.. That could have been somewhat of my childhood, even though I am 1 year older than the characters in the remake. Took me back to finishing up primary school and the lifelong friendships, only 1-2 have fallen by the way side, we grew much taller, fatter and balder together (seriously there has to be something in the water in the suburb we grew up in there's like 12 of us that are bald- what are the odds of that in the 1 classroom!)

Just finished another "found footage" called "Ratter". laptop/mobile phone/hidden security cameras in house. Mid western girl moves to NYC for Uni and gets hacked.. then the stalking begins. Honestly this should be watched by those that live there life through social media and all it's clap trap. It's scary how much info people can find about you.

Small Soldiers (1998)
Some great vocal performances but it is rather tonally inconsistent at times.

Did the first half of Lawrence of Arabia with my sister last night, and then when I got home, Rear Window. Moon with my sister last night (she had never seen it). Great movies both! And Moon is pretty good too

Alice in Wonderland (1999)
A surprisingly very faithful adaptation of the Lewis Carroll story. (Speaking of, why haven’t we had a historical featuring him yet?)
Particular standout is Miranda Richardson as the Queen of Hearts. Although I’m still can’t decide whether or not Whoopie Goldberg was miscast in the role of the Cheshire Cat.

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock - Lacks the grandeur of Motion Picture, lacks the intensity of Khan. If you ranked all the proper Trek films 1-10, this one is the exact middle. But out of all of them, it shows the camaraderie of the whole crew the best, so i enjoy it for that. This was the only one I had on VHS when I was a kid, so I saw it all the time, probably more than any other Trek movie.
I just like the TOS movie era, it has a uniquely vast and dangerous feel to it that even DS9 never recaptured.
Also since we've been watching Hill Street Blues lately, this time around I recognized James Sikking (Lt Hunter) as Excelsior's Captain Styles. So that was kinda neat, and it might explain his character being "in the hospital" for a few episodes a while back.

Hitman (2007) - Can't say that I've seen much of the games, but ok, that was ok...
