Ratatouille (2007)
I’m a great admirer of Brad Bird’s work in animation and this film is no exception.

I have been watching and enjoying Cobra Kai with my 17 year old son. He looked at me and said that he barely remembered the original Karate Kid (I think he was ten or so when he saw it) so we watched it. It's still a fun, nostalgic watch for me. And yeah, no matter how Johnny thinks of himself, he really was the bully here.

Gilda - Va va voom! Witty, saucy, film noir from the golden age of Hollywood. What more could you want?

David lynch (or Alan smithe) Dune tv version.......
What a strange film dune is.......makes no sense, dreadful acting but there’s something about the look and feel of it keeps you watching.......
I watchEd the cinema version as a kid and didn’t understand it at all, but there’s just something about it that Just makes me check it out every 10 years or so......
I wonder if the new film (if ever gets released) will make any more sense........

Grimm's Snow White - Whilst I will say that this was partially a background watch after I got home from work yesterday, I found this enjoyable enough as films by The Asylum go...
Inspector Clouseau - Whilst I will say that it probably could have been just a *little* bit shorter (even for something that's 96minutes), that was definitely a fair enough way to start winding down on a Sunday evening... ('Certainly nice to see Beryl Reid and Anthony Ainley again, albeit briefly! 🙂 )

I saw Roman Polanski's Pirates. It is a thoroughly terrible film that makes Cutthroat Island looks like Curse of the Black Pearl.
It's confused between being a family-friendly homage to golden age pirate movies, and a darker deconstruction more in line with 70s Hollywood - the characters are shells; there's no reason to root for the leads; Walter Matthau is surprisingly bad as the main pirate and almost all the jokes are dead in the water.

Could you say that there was nothing to anchor it, or perhaps that the writing was (eye)patchy?

I do like a good ar-harr but no, this wasn't one. I vaguely remember it has a very nice ship on which they spent a fortune and took a lot of footage of, and that's about it.

All My Life - A little long in places (even for something that's 91minutes), but that was fairly sweet...
Quarantine Girl - An ok-enough twenty-something minutes short film stretched out to sixty-one.
The Return Of The Pink Panther - Fine, that was fine... 'Nice to see a young Mike Grady as the Bellboy though, I will say.
Raiders Of The Lost Ark - A pleasant enough start to the day (... & my 625th since lockdown/the end of March).

I honestly have a soft spot for that movie because I loved it as a kid...

Vanguard, have agree with JHD this was poor, Jackie does very little action & the CGI is awful.
Can't beat 70's 80's for classic JC.
