I was looking in the thread about the Colin Baker sale, and I heard people talking about subscriber short trips being attached to all the trilogies.
I was wondering if anyone knew which releases all the subscriber short trips are linked to?

This seems like the best place to put this, but who is Stephen Critchlow and why does he read most of the Subscriber Short Trips?

This seems like the best place to put this, but who is Stephen Critchlow and why does he read most of the Subscriber Short Trips? I'd assume because he's got a good vocal range for Doctors and companions and is most readily available. He's been reading all the SST since 2014 in terms of release, so maybe there are times when he's got a few days free and records the stories then. We do have titles, writers and TARDIS teams for seven upcoming SSTs up to the end of 2018. And I do know the page hasn't been updated to reflect the announcement of the title of 223, Zaltys. He's a prolific radio actor, and has been in eight regular releases so far: - Doctor Who: The Nowhere Place (2006)
- Doctor Who: The Lady of Mercia (2013)
- The Scarifyers: The King of Winter (2014)
- Doctor Who: An Ordinary Life (2014)
- Doctor Who: The Yes Men (2015)
- Jago & Litefoot & Strax: The Haunting (2015)
- The Avengers: Lost Episodes Volume 5 (2016)
- Doctor Who: Gallery of Ghouls (2016)
Obviously some of the Short Trips he's read pre-date most of these releases, so I'll fall back on vocal range and availability.
Tony Jones, do has your Subscriber Short Trip Helmstone or Tuesday been recorded yet? If it has, were you there for the recording and do you know why Stephen Critchlow was selected to read it?

He also records four in one day, so it doesn't take many sessions to build up a big set

The time I was there it was Stephen, Ian as producer, Neil Gardner the director and a couple of us writers. I couldn't make the other time I had a story recorded;-(

He was also in the Torchwood Lost Souls about the large hadron collider at CERN. I think he is terrific narrating and also being the various characters. I just listened to the Shrine of Sorrows.

Fair enough. I suppose I more meant that job needs to be counted in too - even if in that smaller scale instance, someone can double up. Davy engineers the UK Dark Shadows recordings an' all but then he and Joe are co-directing. So Joe's reading in, Davy's engineering and they're both giving direction. In general though, it's an extra body's job.
