I do wonder if we'll see any of the regular rogue time lords in WD4. Perhaps we'll finally see the running Master, or even have the Rani pop up as a weapons designer like some have suggested in various threads over the years. BF does have a Rani, and a Monk (or three) to call upon, the Master I suspect is off limits, but I wonder what Jane Baker has to say about using the Rani? What makes you think the Master is off limits? I know the TV show is using her right now, but Bf was still allowed to do that Two Masters trilogy. Also, don't they only have two Monks?

I hope they don't have it lead directly into Day, since I'd like them to be able to keep developing Hurt as the end-stage War Doctor rather than having to do prequels if he decides to stay on at some point after the 4th set is recorded.
Anyway, if the pattern continues, the dial will go to 11 in the 4th set and it will be darker/more bitter still.

Anyway, if the pattern continues, the dial will go to 11 in the 4th set and it will be darker/more bitter still. Well the War Doctor novel 'Engines Of War' already leads (more or less) directly into Day, so I don't really see the point in them overwriting it's continuity when there are so few W.D stories released (Nick Briggs narrated the audiobook verion, and as it seems to a very popular choice for a possible future audio adaptation I'm assuming BF will keep their options open..). From memory, I recall B.F stating on facebook that Only The Monstrous was set at roughly the mid-point of The War Doctor's life and many decades before Day, though that may be my memory playing tricks on me, and of course plans can change... I'd like the stories to get even darker as the line progresses, but assuming Hurt wants to do more than the four boxsets, I'd be interested in hearing early War Doctor stories set shortly after he had regenerated, Hurt did try to de-age his voice in NOTD, but he still sounded quite old and gravely, maybe they could do companion chronicel style audiobooks...
