Absolutely fantastic story, which is something that can be said for so many Ian Companion Chronicles! I've only listened to this all the way through twice and not for a while now, too, so I think a revisit is in order!

I hope that they pre-record as many stories as possible with him, because I want new Ian adventures for years to come.

This was the 2nd or 3rd Companion Chronicle I ever listened to. (Mother Russia was the first.) I was still getting used to the format but I did like it. I should listen to it again.

Absolutely wonderful. A charmingly lyrical and fascinating story, just the kind I've come to expect from Jacqueline Rayner.

Listened to this story last night. It was pretty interesting, I liked the historical aspect of it. And I was just waiting the whole time for the reason that Ian was imagining the scientist saying all the things he thought he was hearing. (I just knew he had to be imagining it.)
