Somehow, I think they're going to stay away from the story that undoes most of the Classic Dalek episodes. Plus, BF already has two conflicting versions of post-Rememberance Davros. I don't think they need a third. They do? Please elaborate! I knew there's the Terra Firma one, but no idea of the other. Daleks Among Us.

Other than the usual splitting timelines, you can reconcile BF's versions (and the EDA's War of the Daleks) by saying that Davros was splintered in time by the Hand of Omega (similar to Scaroth in City of Death). Two of the three stories end with Davros out of the picture in two very different ways, so there wouldn't even be multiple Davroses out there: SPOILERS FOR WAR OF THE DALEKS & TERROR FIRMA: War of the Daleks has Davros executed by matter dispersal and Terror Firma ends with him becoming the Dalek Emperor and having his mind overwritten.

Well, in fairness, he dies in most of his TV stories, but he always finds a way to come back

Looking at the cover for Issue 501, it seems there's going to be a huge focus on the Fourth Doctor. Could that be related to the identity of the novel adaptation?
I know the options from Virgin's Missing Adventures are pretty well spent for the Fourth Doctor (all that remains are Sarah Jane and Romana I stories as far as I'm aware), but how about from the Past Doctor Adventures range? I'm not too familiar with the Fourth Doctor stories there besides Festival of Death and that's ruled out since it's already been reprinted.
But, other than that thought, my hopes are for Cold Fusion. I was really hoping we might have seen adaptations for Time of Your Life, Killing Ground, or State of Change. I haven't actually been able to read any of the Sixth Doctor Missing Adventures yet, but from what I know of them they sound pretty interesting!

However, not only has it been recently reprinted, but also Russell Hunter -- the chap who played Kiy Uvanov in The Robots of Death -- passed away way back in 2004, a year after Magic Bullet's Kaldor City series came to a rather definitive close. The rest of them aren't really worth all the hush-hush that's been going on surrounding this particular adaptation, so I'm willing to make the bet that Cold Fusion is the story they're talking about. After many, many years they finally have both TARDIS teams required for it and the novel was pretty much written as six-parter, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

Well, there's the option of the Spider Dalek doing the matter dispersalling was the Davros loyalist and somehow saved him.

I doubt the focus on Tom in 501 is linked to the announcement of the upcoming Novel Adaptation. In the second to last podcast it was stated that when they interviewed Tom recently he gave them so much material that it needed several issues just to be published. Christ Boucher wrote lots of Fourth Doctor and Leela Past Doctor Adventures, however they don't get much attention from Doctor Who fans except for Corpse Marker when that was re-released for the Monster Collection. Interestingly the Missing Adventures didn't get around to using Leela until Lungbarrow, right before the licence ran out for Virgin.

"Cold Fusion" seems the most probable, except I'm pretty sure Nick Briggs flatly denied they were doing it.
Hmm.... hasn't he also said he wants to do "Doctor Who in an Exciting Adventure with the Daleks"?

I don't think I've ever seen anybody at big finish deny that it's cold fusion but then again it doesn't stop lungbarrow being one of the favourites despite big finish repeatedly saying its not

For my money it will be one of (in no particular order): 1. Lungbarrow 2. Dying Days 3. So Vile A Sin 4. Cold Fusion 5. The Dark Path (outside chance) 6. Blood Harvest/Goth Opera double bill
ps It is oh so tempting to do a spoof post "I've just got my DWM in the post and the novel is ..." and see how far the spoof goes!
