Fingers crossed the Abzorbaloff and Slithveen return in Volume 2! Now I need the 3rd Doctor and Sarah (due to her history with the Slitheen in SJA) in a story featuring the Galactic Federation vs the Slitheen. After all, we all could do with some more of good ol' Alpha Centaury

Slitheen do have the faces for audio, but even there I think they should be seen and not heard unless they're actually speaking. (I don't think I'm quite ready for a Behind the Scenes on how Briggsy makes wind noises). However, the Seventh Doctor should speak of the Slitheen's home planet by name, and the more often the better. Now I need the 3rd Doctor and Sarah (due to her history with the Slitheen in SJA) in a story featuring the Galactic Federation vs the Slitheen. After all, we all could do with some more of good ol' Alpha Centaury I need a Third Doctor and Jo story with a renegade Alpha Centaurian... Alpha Centaurian: ... Now do as I say, or I'll destroy this entire planet... teeheehee...Third Doctor: You know, it's very difficult to take you seriously when you sound so incredibly like Miss Piggy!Alpha Centaurian: Oh. Does it help if I sound more like a Monty Python nun, like in Bride of Peladon?Third Doctor: Not really. No one takes them very seriously either, and certainly not after Alan Barnes picked nearly the worst pun possible to encumber the listeners' introduction to a recasting!Alpha Centaurian: Oh, dear...Third Doctor: Well cheer up, old chap... You just have to remember that when you sound like a Muppet and look like a glow-in-the-dark bowling ball and an octopus mated with a vacuum cleaner, sometimes you just have to work a little harder if you want people to take you seriously, that's all.Alpha Centaurian: I see. Eye on the prize and all that...Jo Grant: Did you just make more puns? Ooooh, that does it! I really am going to use your head for a beach ball!Alpha Centaurian: An eye for an eye...Third Doctor: Now see here! No one is ever going to take you seriously if you keep doing that!Jo Grant: Er... Doctor, I think you just did it too...Third Doctor: Now see what you've done! Fine then, that's settled. I guess we'll be seeing you...Jo Grant: Doctor?Third Doctor: Don't bother keeping an eye out for our return...Jo Grant: Doctor!!!(from The Puns of Peladon... obviously...)

I really hope we don't get the Abzorbaloff. Can't we just forget it's even a part of Doctor Who's mythology? Word.

I am really looking forward to hearing Michelangelo and the Weeping Angels in Renaissence Rome - it sounds like a perfect combination. And the visuals for it are already spinning around my head.
If Big Finish can make the weeping angels work on audio I would expect them to return in the next box set with another Doctor. IMO they are the best new monster of the new series and it would be nice if all the Doctor's get a chance to encounter them.

Is it wrong that I kind of want to hear a War Doctor/Slitheen time war story now? ''And in a time of endless tragedy and bitter loss, the haunted War Doctor is forced once more into a desperate battle... a battle of tragic losses, and deadly farts...''

I know I've said this before, but Big Finish really need to rethink their release date policy with their licencise expansion. I know it's all about the masterstrokes and Big Finish is a company of quality, but releasing UNIT: Shutdown late in the month (with little forewarning to the actual date) wasn't the best move and the same is happening this month with the Classic Doctors, New Monsters set.
If there are significant delays, I don't get why Big Finish don't make an announcement ands set a concrete date early in the subsquent month. These are releases of significant intrest to wider fandom and casual customers - it's not as if people aren't prepared to wait. I'm a little unsure as to what you mean there - that rather than a release being in the second half of the month, it should be postponed longer to the start of the next month? Why? Just to get a specific day? There's usually a few days warning of when things are incoming. And let's be fair - there is no significant delays here, we're only on the 20th of the month! Sorry everyone, I have some health-related issues going on.
Well (he said to John Dorney), the problem as I see it is that information about the release schedule just isn't immedietly apparent to new customers intrested in the revival series releases either on the product page or in any of the news announcements (it hasn't been generally since the website upgrade). Yes, it's tucked away in the FAQ, but how many new and casual customers would take the time to consult it? And with the audience you guys are trying to open up to and scepticism over the medium you guys work with (there wrong, obviously!) and the TV series on hiatus until Christmas... 'Out in July' is a bit abriarty for many when actually in July. Yes, us long-term customers are used to it, but I can see this not going well with new customers.

Sorry, but Love & Monsters is one of the best single episodes of Doctor Who, ever. If the story had been kinder to likeable characters (and if the New Series has please finally gotten over the face-in-the-wrong-place cgi gag), I do think it would be a great one. The main premise is great. (It really could have done with a more pleasing ending than sentient brick, though).

Right. The preview copy hit last week. They say. Don't post before its released or the 29th. Does that help? Usually we get them a week before. But that's still fine. Ok?
I suppose? Can you please not be so rude about it? I'm just a worried fan expressing his concern.

The story I'm most looking forward to (and dreading) is Fallen Angels. Looking forward to it because the Weeping Angels are one (if not the best) new series monster and I'm interested to "see" how they work on audio and hoping they are just as terrifying. Dreading it because if done badly (well, let's not go there) and also for some reason I can see every other doctor up against them, just not the Fifth (sorry Peter).
I think that's part of the sell to new customers who are wary about audio drama - "How are they going to do this on audio"? I think it'll work out well, though. A few choice descriptions ("Did it...it move it's arm, Joel?" etc) and it'll be fine. I don't think Big Finish will overdo it. Be wary of The Angel in your mind!
I don't have any problem imagining Five with The Weeping Angels, personally. Watching one of the more vulnerable and gentle of the Doctors grit his teeth agasint the greatest psycopaths in the universe works for me

The reason I'm not worried about Fallen Angels is that (apart from my faith in BF) every medium's debut story for the angels has been considered a stone-cold classic. Blink? Duh. Weeping Angels of Mons? Pointed out as an example of a great Who comic all the time. Touched by an Angel? Along with Prisoner of the Daleks, the most acclaimed novel of the NSAs (so, the last 11+ years of Who). So I'm sure it'll be fine. Pun intended?

Right. Everyone calm down
The angels is an ace story.
The angels are treated with respect and intelligence.
We have nothing to worry about.
And... edited... are superb... especially... edited and edited and edited.
Hope that cleans it up.
