What could have happened if...? It is the question that has accompanied humanity since the beginning, and obviously the Whovians too. Like Marvel "What If" and DC "Elseworlds", the Unbound stories were the perfect excuse for writers to write more freely whatever they want.
With the recent new adventure of Bernice Summerfield along with the most popular Unbound Doctor and Unbound Master, plus the New Series license, this could be a good opportunity to revive the Unbound Range and explore the multiverse of Doctor Who once again.
What do think? Share their ideas here about what might have happened on Doctor Who or totally radical alternative realities that everybody fan would like to be adapted in an future Unbound audio.

When I first started listening to Big Finish I couldn't understand the appeal of the Unbound range. Now, after listening to a few of them I say, yes! I think it's such a creative way to think of the characters and the show. Even when I don't like the individual story, I can appreciate the imagination that went into it.

I haven't dipped into the existing Unbound stories, but with the New Who/Time War license there's certainly room for some interesting alternate stories. I have always wondered what would have happened if 10 had regenerated for real in The Stolen Earth...would we have simply got Smith's Doctor a little earlier? or, remembering how regeneration is supposed to be 'random' (though I'm assuming 10's travels alone in the 'specials year' might have influenced the personality of the 11th Doctor) is there a completely different 12th incarnation we never met? (imagine if it was a female regeneration...I wonder how Rose would have dealt with that...)

If they did come back, I'd love to see them more like "What if X had happened when Y?" ie. What if the Doctor had joined the Master to rule the universe benevolently when he asked in Colony in Space? What if one of the companions never left the TARDIS? (Maybe a sad, older Susan is with a later Doctor and is wishing she had stayed with David.) I have always wondered what would have happened if 10 had regenerated for real in The Stolen Earth...would we have simply got Smith's Doctor a little earlier? or, remembering how regeneration is supposed to be 'random' (though I'm assuming 10's travels alone in the 'specials year' might have influenced the personality of the 11th Doctor) is there a completely different 12th incarnation we never met? My thought on that is that regeneration is pretty fixed (with exceptions) and that the Doc's faces were supposed to go Eccleston-Tennant- Jayston-Smith, but Jayston was overwritten by Tennant. The resentment felt by this lost incarnation would come back to haunt him later...

Best way for more Unbound stories would be better than expected sales of next month's Bernie box set, increased sales of the Unbound range and lots of requests. I for one would love an Unbound series featuring the 9th Doctor.

What if Cass allowed the Eighth Doctor to save her What if the Doctor didn't fight in the Time War What if the Daleks won the war What if the Doctor finally fought back...
....collapsing the time vortex when the Dalek fleet were amassed inside it ready to invade all of time and space.
What if the Time Lord called the Doctor destroyed the ability to time travel.

What if the Time Lord called the Doctor destroyed the ability to time travel. Yeah, that's cool. Basically, the Doctor, living through history one second per second like the rest of us, but it's a new history free of time travelers so as more time passes, he knows less and less about established history.

I've a story idea for an Unbound set post-Doctor Who and the Silurians where things went differently (with BRIAN BLESSED as the fourth Doctor).

Alternate Unbound pitch: What if everyone in the universe, including the Doctor and his companion, was Brian Blessed?

Alternate Unbound pitch: What if everyone in the universe, including the Doctor and his companion, was Brian Blessed? Well, we're close to a universe full of David Warner, with Beth Chalmers, Nick Briggs, Lisa Bowerman and Miranda Raison boy far behind!

I'm a sucker for "What if they never made it in time?" stories like:
What if the Doctor's strength had failed him on the surface of Androzani Minor and the TARDIS was engulfed in an impenetrable fissure of glass from the mud-burst? (The Caves of Androzani)
What if Tegana slew Kublai Khan and the flying caravan was never returned to its rightful owner? (Marco Polo)
What if Phipps was unable to reestablish the homing beam and the rocket containing the Doctor, Jamie and Zoe continued long out of the solar system? (The Seeds of Death)
What if the three intruders from the blue capsule were permanently detained following the massacre on Sea Base 4? (Warriors of the Deep)
What if the Doctor had become the ante-matter monster? (Planet of Evil)
What if the pulley-wheel had snapped and the Aztec tomb stolen away access to the TARDIS? Where would the Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Susan have gone? (The Aztecs)

Maybe they're all faces of Rassilon that he imposed on the universe when he banished the Divergent and made us all look Time Lordy. I'd buy that. (both figuratively and i mean i would purchase that audio)

I'd like to hear a swap...
The actor who played the companion and the one who played the doctor swap.
Peter plays bumbling companion to Janet s all powerful being...
Ok.
Walks away from idea.
