I was hoping that Big Finish would release boxsets of their past stories, but now after seeing these covers I want them to re-release all the old stories with brand new new covers.....as well as the audio extras.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but where exactly does one acquire the new documentary for Chimes? Is it exclusive to the new vinyl reissue? Or, based on the format of the new clip, will it be available for download at some point?

If it's anything like the new documentary for the Cybermen reissues, it will be an exclusive documentary to the vinyl release and not available outside that release. A quick email to BF would probably clarify that though. Cheers Tony

If Doctor Who is a niche and Big Finish Doctor Who is a subset of that niche then vinyl reissues of 15 year or so old audios slivers that niche down to almost microscopic levels. A CD reissue has to be in the cards at some point. As noted in another thread, I'm fine with double dipping some key Big Finish releases provided they get dressed up & spit shined to mark their special status within the Big Finish/ Doctor Who continuity.

We need more of the Original Cybermen, the new ones have gone too far down the stompy robot route.

We need more of the Original Cybermen, the new ones have gone too far down the stompy robot route. Agreed. There is something deeply disturbing about the singsong vocalisms of the original CyberMondasians. Nowadays they seem to resemble Iron Man more than semi-organic automatons that rip out your mind and tether your soul with silvered alloys and plastic.

Cyber-conversion or Iron Man?

On the podcast - last month, I think, Nick actually discussed that the original Cyberman voices put a great strain on his throat, nearly making him hoarse!

Maybe that's why we don't see them more often, you have to be partially converted in order to keep up the voice. Poor man, the finished product is still nevertheless excellent.

Well then, use the 80's Cybermen. It's been ages since they've last appeared, and would be excellent to hear. It'd also make a lovely change from always using the 60's Cybermen. If Big Finish do that, also do a non-cringeworthy Fourth Doctor audio with them.
