...or in my case, my summer holiday with the wife and kids in beautiful Northumberland.
Some may find it hard to believe, but I've not yet listened to these stories and have been saving them for the right time:
Doom Coalition vol 2 The Tenth Doctor Adventures vol 1 (amazing I know) Unit Shutdown 2nd Doctor Companion Chronicles box set
Anyone else out there who likes to wait until the time is right?

Anyone else out there who likes to wait until the time is right? The most I've managed was forcing myself to listen to only one Tennant recording per day, in three sequential days, after having failed to do so with the Hurt, McGann, and Baker box sets. If a new release comes out and I'm busy that evening, then I don't listen to it. But if I'm sitting around, I'm afraid I can hardly help myself.... Are there AA-styled groups for Big Finish fans?

Oh goodness, you're not alone. I have a trove of stuff saved up, including I, Davros and the first series of Jago & Litefoot, which I probably bought over a year ago and haven't listened to yet.
I'm also accumulating Dark Shadows audiobooks in sales and such, without having listened to a single one of them yet. I love the TV show and everyone keeps praising them, so I keep buying blind when I see deals. If it turns out I don't like them, I'll never believe anything I read on the Internet again.

I have a lot of things I've been saving or haven't gotten around to yet. New releases I tend to listen to right away. But when I buy something older on sale... well I have quite a bit I haven't heard.

The most I'll do is hold off a few days with box sets so I can listen to them on the weekend.
At Christmas I try to keep a few things so I have something new to listen to during the 16 hour round trip to visit my parents. That drive allows for a lot of listening.
At the moment I have no backlog in the, according to iTunes, near 800 items I have.

Lots of things I haven't heard yet just because I haven't found time, mostly box sets from spin-off ranges. There have been a number of things that went unheard for some time because I waited for a particularly good (or particularly quiet) moment. The Light at the End was one of those, also the 8DAs - only recently I finally heard the first series of the 8DAs that I'd purchased all of a year earlier.
Also there are several things I tend to be sentimental about and really like still being able to have a few left to look forward to - there are a few TV episodes with Hartnell and Troughton and about a dozen Sarah Jane Adventures that I haven't seen yet, and a few audios with Tom Baker besides all of the 4DAs series 2 that I'm still saving for an appropriate time, even though they're the very first DW sub I ever purchased from Big Finish. I'll probably have to make a festival of it and watch all of season 16 and then listen to 4DAs s.2 while working very hard to remind myself that there will still be several Companion Chronicles with Romana I that I haven't heard yet.

I tend to save stuff to listen to by series so ATM I have not listened to latest 4DA, Last years main range trilogy's for 6th & 7th doc, war doc box 2, doom co box 2,
Other stuff will listen too Asap like Dorian, dark shadows, Sherlock, etc
Currently re listening to survivors series 3 I know I listened to it, but my memory has blanked 90% of it out! Before listening to 4.

No, those sort of times are when I relisten to old favourites. New titles I try and listen to asap.
Caveat: I link to binge on linked stories, so won't listen to the Mel trilogy until the third one comes out. I don't buy series like 4da on subscription, I prefer to buy in bulk and listen to them sequentially.

I've heard them before, but I'm taking the McCoy novel adaptations with me when I go on holiday on Monday.
Also got UNIT series 2, which I've not heard yet.

I try to listen to new DW releases as soon as possible, unless part of a definite sequence (like the Master Trilogy). Other ranges (Survivors, Dark Shadows) I listen to in the car, so they tend to get pushed back (haven't listened to Survivors 4 yet). Other ranges or single releases (like Dracula) I save for quiet periods, when I'm stuck for something to listen to (or want a change). I still haven't listened to Sapphire & Steel even though I bought the whole lot well before they stopped selling them - they must be being kept for a seriously rainy day . Cheers Tony

We have 3 trips planned to the Edinburgh Festival this year and as its a 5 hour round trip I have saved some stuff for that, Unit: Shutdown, the 2nd War Doctor Set, This months Main Range, the 3rd Benny Boxset should be available by then, Dark Shadows Bloodlust, the new Counter Measures set, that should keep me going.
