Not sure when I'm going to get to watch the TV series again, but if I had my way about it I'd watch the whole thing over, only this time I would keep a diary and write down things of note that I usually only run into when I'm not looking for them. Now the question is, what all should go in this diary? A few come readily to mind as especially important
But that's about all I can think of. I thought of keeping a tally of every time Barnabas bites somebody but that's probably like keeping a tally of every time Roger has a brandy. Set recycling would be fun trivia ("Did you know the courtroom Vicki was tried in is also the upstairs of the house she wanted to buy, and that Prof. Stokes lives in Roger's office at the cannery?") but that quickly starts to sound a little too comprehensive to keep good tabs on.
What else do you think might be some of the most important things to put in a Dark Shadows viewing diary?
- Cool facts about vampires and werewolves (the later happens in the Leviathan arc)
- Julia's brother
- Gerald Collins (or was I dreaming that?) and all obscure genealogical references, not the least of being Laura Collins
- Exactly how many times (and when and where) Dr. Woodard refers to Julia as "the best man in his field"
- Scenes that are noteworthy for behind-the-scenes happenings (spot when Louis Edmonds is performing with no pants on, or when the entire Old House set went to the dump accidentally)
- Scenes that are noteworthy for their contents - the first supernatural happenings, touching scenes, Barnabas' description of the building of the Old House to Vicki
