Well I live in Canada, so it costs us a lot more... when not pre-order price it costs upwards of $100 for a boxset... to put that into perspective a 2 bedroom apartment costs between $700-1000 during a quiet season. I will admit, that Doctor Who audios do not exist here in thrift stores... lucky to find a novelization, and if you find one of those, $14.99 is on the high end. That's cheap for a two bedroom. Here in Ottawa you are lucky to find a rat trap bachelor for less than a grand and that is before factoring in parking and utilities. For or the most part the box sets are reasonably priced! More so if you go with the download over the physical product. Unfortunately the physical product does cost more and we don't get free postage outside the U.K. It really boils down to if you don't want the full set, don't buy it. The best suggestion I can offer is to email the podcast and or Vortex and ask if they have or are considering offering box set titles for individual purchase in addition to as part of the full box.

I'm fine with boxsets, although the only Doctor I follow 100% at BF is McGann, all the stories sound interesting and it certainly works out cheaper buying them in a boxset rather than £8-10 singly, I suppose keeping them in boxsets makes it easier to market for BF and brings in more money quicker. I am specifically following McGann's Doctor, so I don't want to get hooked into more lol. I can understand only wanting to follow a particular Doctor and I know that I would have been very annoyed if the only way to buy The Well-Mannered War was to buy the Novel Adaptions Volume 2. But just a quick question - did you buy the River Song boxset? McGann was only in one of the stories in that box as well.

Ha, I can sympathize with that, honestly, yes it was McGann's appearance in Volume One of River Song that swayed me, I was not a big fan of River on TV and hadn't seen alot of the stories she featured in, but I really enjoyed the first boxset, and now I'm very tempted to get the next one, budget permitting. CD: NM has also been very enjoyable so far, so yes beware of being hooked lol. (That said, as much as I enjoy McGann's audio stories, I'd still find it hard to justify subscribing to the Main Range just to get The Four Doctors and Museum Peace (the latter I'm particularly keen to hear, holding out hope it might get remade as a full cast audio...)
