There should be a commentary track of someone watching the footage and their comments on it, reflecting the reactions of the audience (sharp intake of breath at a jump scare for example). At the end they realise that there's no way the person filming could have left the camera where it was found... {Spoiler} The point is that an Angel intended for someone to find the footage and play it back, allowing the Angel to manifest through the playback.

That would be the most terrifying end to a Doctor Who episode ever. Exactly . and the natural way to have th Angel moving towards the camera is tiny bits of static, so it gets closer. Then the huge one at the very end Yeah, you could have the camera glitching and playing up. Each time the picture goes normal the Weeping Angel is nearer to the camera.

My reasoning exactly. and then the Angel would be close to the camera/screen reaching out before my final jarring cut to static

Get a group of actors, directors, fans, etc, in on the idea and have it as a carefully calculated chain of videos with the angel getting stronger and stronger...

Not if they secretly got the BBC's consent as part of a covert advertising campaign for the programme. What better way to generate interest?

What do you think? Could a found footage Weeping Angels story make the Angels scary again? Moffat has already produced a found footage episode. And, look how that ended! I think I could have liked a version of Sleep No More where the monsters were Cybermen or Angels or just something other than eye gunk. But the point remains, it has been done recently. If found footage doesn't die as a genre in the next few years, maybe it could be revisited down the line. Even better if we don't see the Angels again until then.

I don't think found footage is going to die anytime soon. Like anything it just has to be used in the right way.

But if there is a "done to death" feeling now, who knows if that feeling will go away.
