Indeed have the CC's as a back up if the Petition doesnt work I bet it won't be long until Big Finish pick up the Sarah Jane Adventures license. I only caught a few episodes of the SJA and I found them quite enjoyable, but would narrated audiobooks really appeal to the younger demographic that was the SJA target audience? I'm not doubting BF's ability to do wonderful things with the series license if they ever aquire it, but I can't help but wonder if the abscence of the leading actress would be too hard to work around, with the CC's its different as the actors passed away decades ago, it still feels a little too recent i.m.o for BF to anythign too dramatic with Sarah Jane's story... Books would be the better option i.m.o.

If they tried to continue it on television I could understand the 'too recent' argument but on audio if Sarah Jane's not recast and still very much a part of the adventures I doubt there would be a problem of disrespect.

Demographic always comes up when SJA is mentioned, but it's been five years. The young fans of SJA aren't quite as young anymore...

Most of the SJA audios were narrated by Elizabeth Sladen but there were a couple that were narrated by the kids from the show and they did quite a good job. I would definitely be interested in a companion chronicles style continuation.

It tackled many serious themes during its run - such as homelessness and slavery - and I think there's potential to explore many more with the characters of Luke, Rani, Clyde and maybe even Maria.
