I had to laugh, it was a kind of ironic laugh, but man o man, just how bad do things have to be before a sweet manufacturer tweets to condemn a US presidential candidate...

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

A token tweet to topple Trump's ticket is a ticklish tactic for tic-tac to take.

I always feel somewhat self-conscious as an American around here, and Trump is doing nothing to alleviate that.

I fear for the Americans. I genuinely fear for the whole world if Trump wins, it's easy to see he would boost Russia, destabilise Nato, push a racist and misogynist agenda to the for, alienate allies and foes alike, and make Mutually Assured Destruction (the idea/principle that no one would use nuclear weapons first because it would also mean their own certain destruction) no longer a lockout on first use of nukes.

A lot of people hate Trump here even many in his party have spoken out against him. But scarily he does have a large supporter base here.
Even more scary are the people who don't like Trump but still plan to throw the election by either not voting or voting third party. We will definitely need all the prayers we can get.

I hope President Fart, I mean Trump, gets elected, it will make me feel better about the implosion of our Goverment following Brexit.
...To give a serious answer, the thought of having an arrogant, vain, immature, racist, misogynistic, sexist billionaire with no previous experience in political office whose opinions change as often as the weather in charge of the most powerful nation on earth is a frankly terrifying one.
No offense intended to any Trump supporters, but as a left leaning Brit I'm frankly baffled that A) he has support from so many people and B) They actually think he'll be able to deliver on half these promises.
Not overly fond of Clinton either (Bernie Saunders would have definitely got my vote if I were American), but damn 2017 is looking slighty terrifying...

I fear for the Americans. If there's one good thing Trump has done, it has been a mere byproduct of his existence: he has shown that we have not made anywhere near the amount of progress we have enjoyed telling ourselves about over the last few decades.

Yeah, every now and again everyone needs a good old kick in our complacency. I'm curious though, have the US elections always been this crazy or is this something new?

They've been crazy for years, but this current one is just insane. It's kicked up into a big enough storm that people here in Australia who typically do not have an opinion on international politics have managed to split off into different camps. It is amazing how invested in the election they've become despite not being able to vote or having any ties to the United States outside of cultural osmosis.

There was a brilliant scetch/skit on radio 4 extra... where trump is told that he had won and is locked inside a truman show type white house.
This I can live with

My neighbor, whom I've liked and respected, has just put up in his front yard the most gigantic Trump sign I've ever seen. I've walked by a couple of his hotels and they don't say 'Trump' in letters that big. I've spoken with him enough to get the idea that he's conservative, and I respect that even where I disagree. I'm not ultra-liberal myself and am pretty good at seeing both sides of most rational debates around issues. If I knew him better I'd love to ask how he squares Trump love that needs to be seen from outer space with the kind of repugnant everyday behavior towards other people that I know he would never engage in, nor expect from his sons.
