Just found this picture from the recording day. Me, Matthew and Stephanie enjoying the magic of Dark Shadows. And wine.

Thank you for sharing. It's always great seeing the Dark Shadows actors, staff, and fans, whether work-related or having fun together. Love Matthew's shirt of course.

Looking forward to this year's releases. I buy all the DS audios, but it seems like such a long time since we've had anything new! There was something out last month, silly! And now there's something out next month too.

So do we now start speculating that Phantom Melodies was brought forward to leave May free of DS for Bloodline?

So do we now start speculating that Phantom Melodies was brought forward to leave May free of DS for Bloodline? The next anthology, Dreams of Long Ago, also appears to have been moved forward. It'll be released July. It could be the release was assessed to be ready for a February release and Big Finish didn't want to sit on it for a few months.

I know, I'm a stirrer by nature... but I would like a release date for Bloodline! I think it is unlikely that speculation will loosen the lips of the DS team, though, they are good at not giving anything away (other than Snowflake, of course)

I can't help but wonder if there has been greater difficulty getting the actors together this time around, with the move to the Short Trips collections in lieu of the Dramatic Readings. On the other hand, it's still less of a wait then between the first full-cast series and Kingdom of The Dead.....

The Dark Shadows production team has been pretty upfront about their difficulties in getting everyone recorded for Bloodline.

I think they've been REALLY upfront...and it IS a huge undertaking, on two continents, and even here in the States on two coasts! Not to mention the schedules of the actors. We already know how involved Bloodlust was, and that was perfection. If it's taking longer logistically for Bloodline, I'm sure it will be worth the wait! And they'll keep us steeped in other great stuff in the meantime.

And they'll keep us steeped in other great stuff in the meantime. Joe Lidster is on record as saying that while Bloodlust was a story about a mystery, Bloodline is a mystery about a story. A more intricate storyline would explain the difficulties in actor scheduling, and won't make it easy in post-production either.

An announcement can't be more than a month or so away, if it's being readied for May. Editing & effects time has to be built in, and that's a long audio, if it's Bloodlust-length.

Hmmm... No wishes to rush anything but how you say in the world of the supernatural, "I'm so hungry!" for Bloodline announcements that I'm sure I'd be thrilled to be strung along with long a trail of tiny crumbs. Otherwise I'm probably likely to do something foolhardy and potentially self-injurious like speculate on whose availability is holding up the proceedings. (Well, it is sort of a tantalizing mystery since it seems like a number of important performers must have been in studio recently enough with the short stories that I just can't quite seem to figure out who'd be missing). Any chance we could get one of our esteemed insiders to spill one just bean for the month? How's the cover artwork coming along? Will there be artwork? Is there still going to be a story? Will there be discs? Will there be sounds on them? Must... have... news!!!!

Love Lives on is still October (edit - okay. it's old news and this thread hadn't mentioned the change) Could Bloodline be in July/August? (maybe not - but let's hope)

Bearing in mind the memory cheats, especially mine, wasn't Bloodlust originally called The Hand of Petoffi? I remember reading an advert for it, or mention of it at least, and then things went quiet for a very long time. It seems a similar thing is happening with Bloodline. I look forward to it greatly of course, but I'm just hppy to have any new Dark Shadows, and these bit-size audios do the job very nicely indeed.

I thought it was "Time of Petofi"? You might very well be right. Like I said, my memory isn't great.

I believe it was "Time of Petofi" by Stuart Manning. I'm guessing that eventually Bloodlust might have turned out to be somewhat different? Amazon still has "Time of Petofi" listed for some reason - I don't think it's really ever been available? www.amazon.com/Time-Petofi-Dark-Shadows/dp/1844355977

Time of Petofi doesn't exist except perhaps as an idea. Bloodlust is what took its place.
