Shouldn't discussions re Class be on a different thread, as it is not Doctor Who?

Shouldn't discussions re Class be on a different thread, as it is not Doctor Who? You aren't wrong, but it is close to Who. Let's see what others think

Let's see what others think Torchwood is close to Doctor Who but the audios have separate threads, so I was only following the same logic... but I don't care either way. Although it is nice to keep things tidy!

Miss Quill is reading Hunger Games and wondering if it actually happened! Does she think the movie is a documentary or something?

I really like Nightvisiting, but it's again a wee bit derivative to really work for someone who knows genre well. When the show is already pitched as a UK Buffy, you probably shouldn't nick a monster but this does - Season 7 of Buffy has a creature than takes on the form of the dead, specifically the dead, to lure the living into a trap. The other massive influence here - and having read 3 reviews on reputable sites, I cannot believe not one mentions it - is Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. Visually and tonally the creatures taking over with the tentacled, organic growths is pure Bodysnatchers. However, as I said last week, that doesn't matter much for this show's intended audience because they're not likely to have seen Buffy or Invasion - and as the old wrestling promoter line goes, "If you ain't seen it, it's new to you".
I liked Quill using the bus - reminded me almost of Barbara using the fire engine in Dalek Invasion Of Earth. Matteus and Harry shared some lovely scenes and the show is handling their romance well. Ram really is shaping up to be a very pleasant surprise. Far from being the jock character who looks down on the nerdy characters, he's really kinda the de factor leader and twice in two weeks has put everything into looking for a way to solve the problems right off the bat rather than purely because its affecting him. He, and other characters who could be archetypes are subverting expectations enough to keep the show fresh for now.
Oh, and nice to have a "Everybody lives" episode so soon after the first couple of episodes went out their way to kill characters off.

Miss Quill is reading Hunger Games and wondering if it actually happened! Does she think the movie is a documentary or something? If she was reading a book on the true story of World War 2, she could still then see a fictional war film based on the real event so not sure that questions valid - especially since it was clearly a throwaway 2 second gag and not even remotely a plot point

As a Pole, I'm pretty annoyed by the fact that they didn't bother checking the correct spelling for the token Polish character's name (it's "Mateusz", not "Matteusz"). Also, they could have either hired a Polish actor (there's lots of Poles now in the UK, including actual actors) or they could have taught him to speak the few Polish words he had to speak better (it was almost unintelligible, I was able to determine that it was supposed to be Polish only on rewatch). Or if not that, please, don't have him speak "Polish" at all.

Nightvisiting for my enjoyment taste was another not bad / not great episode of 3 now aired, which none so far have stood out. The bright spot for me has been Miss Quill consistently being a rather cool and interesting character. The dialogue scenes between Ram and April leading up to them now being an item were not engaging at all. From the preview of the next episode it definitely looks like April and Ram have sex! So much for appreciable bereavement of what previously seemed to be played out as Ram being significantly impacted by the death of Rachel his very recently departed girlfriend. The alien vine Lan Kin villain was moderately interesting, but the "come to me Tanya, I'm really your dad" quickly ran out of steam for the amount of time it took up. For those of you that enjoyed this story, apologies for being a sourpuss - it gets a 6/10 rating from me.
