I was watching the series on Hulu and got up to the early 300s. I left it for a few months but when I went back to watch it today there is now a gap between 290 and 534. That's a lot of story to miss. Anyone know how I can watch the series without it costing me an arm and a leg?

Hulu's US only isn't it (I think)? So I'm making an assumption that you are too. Apparently a huge chunk of episodes got taken down a while back but you could hold out in the hope they come back. Otherwise apparently there's an official YouTube channel www.youtube.com/show/dark_shadows/videos? but it is pay only (I can't access it from the UK so have no idea what is on there though). And Amazon have episodes for streaming in the US too, but again it will be paid - I think it's $1 per episode if you buy 40 in one go, but not knowing your budget I'm not sure if that would be an arm and a leg! I believe some episodes are illegally uploaded to youtube as well, but obviously I wouldn't condone that route.

I'm in the UK
Again not sure on the legality of it but both YouTube and Dailymotion have several hundred episodes online (but there are gaps due to copyright issues), just do a search for Dark Shadows

Don't know how many there are from the missing range but hopefully episodes uploaded to YouTube by MPIMediaGroup are legit. No idea what Nexflix has anymore, sorry, but they might be worth a try? Cheapest thing otherwise if you're willing to pay something for episodes might still be to buy the DVD collections with the missing episodes if you're not up for saving up for the whole set, definitely looks cheaper compare to Amazon Video's per-episode price or even their per-season rates. The DVDs really are an incredible bargain still, I bought them by the collection which is more expensive to do in the long run, and I think the whole set still cost me less than I've spent for a complete collection of Dark Shadows audio.
(Possibly the Beginning sets with episodes 1-208 could run a little more, when I got them they maybe weren't as well circulated as the rest of the series as I couldn't find them used for any less than new copies so I got them new, so that's a plus if they're all still on Hulu).

I think all the dvds are available to rent through the Netflix DVD service.

The first thing, I guess, is to check Amazon Prime. $1/episode isn't too bad, but it will get pricey.
I'll just have to keep searching.
