Hmm, this doesn't really surprise me to be honest. I remember doing a survey about a year ago and a lot of the questions were about whether the exhibition being in Cardiff made me less likely to go.

It's understandable I am sad to admit. Trouble is the target audience move on when the show is not on TV, 18 months is a lifetime when your a pre-teen there is lots of other stuff to take its place.
I suspect the more adult tone to the show, time slots, older doctor and its absence from the TV screen will have reduced numbers since the move.
The brand is not the licence to print cash, it was five years ago.
Perhaps it's maybe that they want to move it closer to the London, in the hope it may get more visitors their.
But sad news none the less

To my knowledge there's been an Exhibition in Blackpool (1970s), London and Cardiff (possibly others) so it would be a shame if it shuts completely (especially with all the work they've put in revamping older monsters). The thing that surprises me the most though is that it won't stay where it's being filmed. We've been twice and you have the whole location thing as well as the exhibition (inc Torchwood) all in one place. If anything I would have liked to have tours of Roath Lock studios as part of the whole experience. But then again, I am a huge Who geek . Cheers Tony

I really hope they set it up somewhere, whether it's a theme park or a London location or somewhere else in Cardiff. There's too much cool stuff for it to just head back into BBC storage.

They should never have moved it to Cardiff in my opinion. I can see the Doctor Who Experience either moving back to London or being a part of the BBC area at the Paramount theme park due to open in 2021.

If they dont renew the lease i do hope it gets moved and keeps going, mainly as I've never been.

Cardiff appear to have other plans for the site. Apart from the option to include TARDIS tours I can't see any good reason for it to stay in Cardiff anyway, but let's not forget it used to be in Cardiff Red Dragon shopping centre, so anything is possible.

AH fair enough. Well lets hope it finds a new home

I'm glad I got a chance to go before it closed. It was really fun, and I still use the awesome ?umbrella that I got at the gift shop. Plus, seeing Bessie was amazing. They should move it to America. I know that doesn't really make any sense, but I wnat to go again, and the UK is far away.

Booked to go next February before it closes. I can't see it coming North anytime soon and the likelihood of us going down to London is less than the chance of me becoming the Doctor (altho' I'm still hopeful ...).
Cheers

I have a terrifying feeling that it will close right before I get to the UK in August.

Why does Cardiff want to close it? I mean, why else would anybody even visit Cardiff?

Why does Cardiff want to close it? I mean, why else would anybody even visit Cardiff? Because it's a capital city.

I had always hoped to visit the Doctor Who Experience. Guess I'll never have the chance.

My son went to Cardiff. He's not a Doctor Who fan, so that was not the reason he went.
