Doesn't the 2017 predictions thread already kinda answer this? Not to take anyone's right to have an opinion away, but I think that ground was already well trodden.

I'd love to see a feature-length paced adventure - essentinally more or less Doctor Who: The Movie! in the main range.

More Benny in the Dying Universe.
Maybe a Unbound twist on NS story as part of the set (Silence in the Library? How pissed off would the Doctor be to find ANOTHER library that's off limits to survivors. Or maybe Dinosaurs on a Spaceship? Perhaps Ark in Space?).

If Series 10 is Capaldi's last (I really hope not), I'm hopeful that Big Finish would be able to get the rights to his Doctor, and I'm assuming Capaldi would probably have more time to do the audios than Tennant or Smith.

More novel adaptations announced, and not just for 4 and 7. Problem is, all of the fourth Doctor stories that are adaptable have been adapted - the other MAs have either Sarah Jane or Romana 1 in them. While you could change Shadow of Weng-Chiang to be a Romana 2story I suppose, it might lose something. |

BF could probably negotiate the rights to them at some point. |

David Tennant is a Whovian like Peter Capaldi so I'm sure he'll squeeze time in somewhere to record a volume two for next year. I'll be shocked if there's no volume two next year; I just wish Big Finish would hurry up and announce it. David Tennant would probably record on a weekend and sacrifice time with his family if it was his only way to play the 10th Doctor for more audios. Again, he's a Whovian like us. Matt Smith I think would be more complex than that because he doesn't have the fan status of David Tennant. I think he will agree to do Big Finish audios but only when he has time available to record them. Peter Capaldi will be the same as David Tennant: he'll do it regardless of whether he is too busy or not. I don't think he will do Big Finish as soon as he leaves Doctor Who though. I think he'll wait ten years before returning to the role of the Doctor. |

I really hope they move onto the BBC books at some point and adapt Engines of War. I know there's an audiobook version but that's not the same as an audio drama starring John Hurt would be.

I loved Engines Of War but don't see the point in doing that for a while,if ever, The War Doctor's got so few stories I'd prefer for B.F to focus on creating new ones rather than adapting old ones. Maybe the BBC (or even Big Finish) will do more War Doctor novels at some point, I heard great things about the charity Anthology 'Seasons Of War' |

I would prefer new stories with John Hurt as well. To be perfectly honest I found Engines of War to be a rather average Doctor Who story and one where I knew what was going to happen pretty early on. I've tried several George Mann novels and while I find the plot ideas have potential I find the actual writing to be boring & predicable.

Have you listened to the audiobook? If you have not I strongly suggest you give it a go. I think that once you do you won't be asking for a full cast version. Granted it was before the John Hurt boxsets that I listened to it, but I was very impressed with the life Nick Briggs brought to it. I plan to re-listen after the Fourth box set is released. Personally I would like to listen to John Hurt in some more new stories. |

Regarding David Tennant's returning to Big Finish for more 10th Doctor audios, a couple of posters on Gallifrey Base have hinted that, 'much to BF's surprise, he actually had to be rather coaxed back than jumping at the chance. He took slightly more convincing to appear in Day of the Doctor than all the publicity for that made out, as well. I understand he's moved on after leaving the show and (whisper it) hasn't really enjoyed Doctor Who since he left and has in fact stopped watching. Which is a shame'. We shall see. |
