I feel like each UNIT box set is better than the one that came before it. More confident, better executed with a strongest sense of the New Series style of storytelling that Big Finish produces. The series started off strong and four boxes in, this was my favorite set. Bravo.

Another good set, one that brings past and present together very well. I echo previous views on Osgood, she's brilliant. The only thing I don't want to hear again is the Silurian Howling thanks very much!
Cheers

I may get stoned for saying this... but... Anyone else think the Brigs delivery is... slow.

Have yet to listen to this but in researching Benton's timeline, I came across his wife being listed on TARDIS Wiki as "Marjorie (Call to Arms)" - a page that doesn't exist. I wonder if this isn't Margery Phipps from Council of War? A nice callback to the only other John Levene audio story.

I listened to this the same weekend I watched Invasion of the Dinosaurs. I have to say Franklin's and Levene's voices sound just the same now as then!

I just realised: why Assembled and not United?

I just realised: why Assembled and not United? Because they saved that for the episode title of the finale

I’m not sure how I’ve managed to do it, but I realised when pre-ordering Cyber Reality, I never actually got round to listening to this set. Which means I didn’t listen to Encounters either!
Anyway, I’m halfway through Assembled now after realising this morning. 4.1 is good fun, and it’s nice how we get Benton, and then Yates before Kate and Osgood come into play.
4.2 is an utter delight, Jo and Osgood are the perfect pairing, and it’s quite a thought provoking episode, I thought. It’s certainly making me think of The Sea Devils in a new light. Jo mostly goes through the beats she does in Death of the Doctor, but it’s so wonderful to hear Katy play older Jo, that it scarcely matters.

4.3 is a good runaround, quite self-contained with a small cast. Jemma and Ingrid are given some great material here and it offers them a large range. I’m actually not too fussed over the Silurians, Vastra aside, but they’re presented differently here and Neve is really good.

Listened to 4.4 on the commute to and from work. It’s fine, but I thought it was quite a comedown from the previous 3 episodes. The old UNIT trio are just here in this, they don’t add a great deal, and Jo just goes through the exact same beats as she did in 4.2, which are far more justified in that episode. Sam and Josh still don’t do a great deal; I think Shindi is a much better character and is utilised better.
That said, whilst it’s not my favourite set - that’s the fantastic Silenced - it’s the first time I feel that UNIT are properly large and international in the series so far.
Looking toward to Encounters and a different way of storytelling for this range.

It’s great to listen to the Old and New unit the family.IT all feels so safe these teams.Benton running a pub,not shying away from the past, the goading Mike receives about his breakdown.Am loving it ,little reference to Kate visiting pub with her father it is little touches that BF paints that make BF so special.

It was great having Jo Jones, Mike Yates, and John Benton in this set of releases.
As usual, I didn't look at the cast list before listening, so when I heard the voice of Commander Tryska, I said, wait a minute, is that Neve McIntosh? And, of course, it was.
Very nice set of stories.

I really enjoyed that. Felt like a real love letter to the UNIT of yesteryear without resorting to having the older characters we all know and love come across like (if you’ll pardon the pun) dinosaurs compared to their newer counterparts.
Performances were very strong all across the board although naturally I have a very issues here and there. Mainly that this is very much a Silurian story and not necessarily ‘The Reptiles taking back the Earth’ like I initially thought. The Sea Devils are woefully underused although as mentioned by others here previously I do like the idea of them being very much a separate race who have their own plots and agendas much like their land bound cousins.
Actually, for a moment I thought the conclusion of the set might reveal that UNIT had resorted to awakening some Sea Devil chambers that had previously shown compassion towards humans to make the war against the Silurians more equal but I was pleasantly surprised.
