Hi Everyone, Now that 2016 is almost coming to a close I wanted to do something fun to celebrate the year of Big Finish Audios so I was thinking we could vote for our favorite audios of the year in numerous Categories. There would be two separate stages to this a Nomination Stage and a Voting Stage. The Nomination Stage would probably start in early December and run through January so people have time to listen to Big Finish December releases. The Voting stage would then happen shortly after this. there will be one thread for both the Nomination and Voting stage. Now my question for you is what type of Categories would everyone like to see? They can be specific like [Best Main Range Title, Best New Who Release, Best Torchwood, Best Worlds of Big Finish release] or more broad like [Funniest, Saddest, Scariest, Best Overall audio] or it can be a mixture of these types. Those are just ideas, I want to hear from you guys what Categories you would like to hear. Keeping in mind we are going to have to narrow the categories down so if you like a category someone else mentions please just like the post. Also Tony Jones mentioned ideas for names for the awards: The Spraggs, The Sirens but if you have any other suggestions please feel free to also mention in this thread and we can have a vote in the Nomination thread. Finaly if you have any other suggestions or thoughts please let me know in this thread. And if anyone has a list of all Big Finish audios released in 2016 that will be very helpful.

My favorite for the names of the awards are The Tinnies. Since Tin Dog started this wonderful place, it makes the most sense.
I would go with mostly specific awards (Best MR, Best Torchwood monthly, Best Worlds of Doctor Who, Best Worlds of BF, etc.) but then throw in a few of the broader ones (Best Overall). Lets also not forget Best Writer, Best Score, Best Sound Design, etc.
Or will that be too much? It could really get out of control.

One way to think about it is if something has a lot of releases it can have its own category, but if there is a range with only a couple releases then it's probably best to combine it with something else with one or 2 release.

Great idea! My two cents: I think breaking it down by range is the best way to go and perhaps a range that covers special releases that can gather up releases that don't fit in a range. Beyond that, some categories for funniest, scariest, score, and so on would add some nice flavor to the awards.

I'm in favor of breaking it down by ranges, but maybe round up some of the smaller ranges into a single category just to keep from having too many pages. I also think there should be a "best writer" category as well.

Shall we have a vote to see if we should even have awards?

I vote we have the BIG HURT award.
Everyone does the best of this and the best of that, one thing we should think about is what was the absolute worst audio adventure that BF did over the previous year, I mean the absolute 'what a waste of time and money audio'
That way, everyone can buy it and see if they agree or not...And I have come across some real duds, and at least a few that would be in the running for that award.
Yeah, I'm not an optimist, I'm a pessimist, the glass is always half empty, and a blind squirrel will not get lucky and find a nut, just die horribly...
Seriously, I want nominations for the BIG HURT award!

This is only for audios in 2016 so those won't count

This is only for audios in 2016 so those won't count Well then, I vote The Trouble with Drax. Call me Romana, but the whole thing being inconsequential rubs me up the wrong way. The reveal happening once was clever, but it got used so often that it stopped having any meaning, especially the last time. It seems to be a popular story but it's a waste of a really good writer and cast IMO.

It looks like everyone wants to name the awards after you TinDogPodcastNominations haven't started but keep that title in mind I am thinking of having best boxsets and best individual story awards.

I nominate myself for most caffeinated... We should give Nick Briggs the "Just Imagine" award just because..

Best new actor or writer? I can think of two nominees for the latter.
