I wanted to know what people's weird or different things they do when it comes to Doctor Who. For example, I prefer the audiobooks of novelizations of classic stories I have watched as I find them able to flesh the story and I am able to do work on other things instead of having to sit down and commit to a story.

Continuity. Oh, the continuity... Having recently ventured into fandoms like Star Trek, I was surprised by how elastic and fluid my approach to the timelines was. Instead of waving a hand and dismissing certain things as canon and non-canon, I've actually gone to a great deal of effort to make sure most -- if not all -- of it fits together into one continuum. I've done it for fun, but there are other series where the whole concept boggles the mind.
That was a unique experience for me.

I've never watched a classic serial without information or commentary subtitles on (I'm borrowing the DVD's off a friend so I can only watch most of them once, watching the story with subtitles on makes it seem like I'm watching it twice as I can hear the dialogue fine but get the actors thoughts or info through the text) and I only watch Classic stories in one sitting (even the arse numbing War Games) as I sometimes find it hard to get into the pace/story again if I split the story up over several nights.
Also, I love the 6th Doctor's multicoloured coat.

If I really want to hear a Doctor Who audio and I'm just not in a situation where I'll get to pay attention, I sometimes put on a Companion Chronicle as background just because it's nice to hear William, Carole, Frazer, Peter, Wendy, Anneke and others as pleasant, familiar, friendly voices who are going on as if they've gotten themselves into something terribly interesting. I still find that rewarding at times when it's just hopeless to try to listen to music or actually follow a story.
Sort of like they're sitting at a table away from you at a restaurant talking about an adventure and you can't really make out that much of the conversation but of course it would be thrilling to look up from your lunch and see any of them or their characters in real life.
Watching Doctor Who, I still have sort of a weird habit that if I watch any of a particular season, I will really want to watch the entire season, with the New Series as well as the original. Not that long ago I was just going to watch my five favorite Tennant episodes, honest, and next you know...

I like to have a nice cuppa when watching a Doctor Who episode.

I usually just pick a monster or villain and then watch/listen to/read every story that they are in in order. It saves me the trouble of having to decide which episode to watch.

If I listen to a First Doctor story, then I HAVE to listen to a Second Doctor story next time and then after that a Third Doctor story and so on. And the only times I break away from that format, I like to listen to stories in "seasons" - so, six or five Sixth Doctor stories that happen one after another and so on.

The Evelyn stories are perfect for that i agree
