The Mandalorian episode 6. Me as well. I liked it. I still don't know where the series is going but I'm enjoying the ride.

I can't help but notice that it kind of echoes all those old Western TV shows from the 50s and 60s, in that the first episode or two gives a reason for the main character to head out on the road, and then every episode is the hero arriving in a new town and resolving their problem before riding off into the sunset.

Really? You think? It wears its references pretty clearly on its sleeve. Old TV westerns. Old samurai films. Take your pick. It is a Star Wars take on the lone gunslinger genre. This Gun for Hire is the one I keep thinking of.

It wasn't meant as a criticism of your post, I was just springboarding off of it because it put me in mind of a lot of (to my mind) wrongheaded criticism of the show in general.

Star Trek Discovery Season 1 Episode 1 For a first episode, not really much happens in full regards. But it does have me intrigued on where its going to go

Yes. I like the fact it is slightly old-fashioned in tone. Relying less on arcs more standalone adventures.

Link to full Episode: youtu.be/F9vnV8DAVMsInspection Wexford: Some Lie and Some Die, only watched it for Capaldi playing a sinister but sexy David Bowie type rock star 🎸🎤 the rest was like a subpar Midsommer Murders episode🤔 But it was worth it to see Capaldi do his own Bowie style singing and guitar playing 😃 here is link if you are curious about just his scenes: youtu.be/_ZgQFzH-zIU

So, I started watching Brooklyn Nine Nine. Just the one episode, mind. Just to get the flavour of the proceedings...
I'm now at the end of Season 2 in a week. Send help.

The Mandalorian Ep 6 . OMG.. so many Easter Eggs.. no spoilers from me.. Every episode has been meme worthy. WOW Wouldn't know, Disney don't deem UK fans worthy of watching it until 31st March. The show i want to watch most can't watch.

Watched the incredibly surreal Red Dwarf: Back to Earth 🤔😀This was one of the strangest Red Dwarf series ever! The plot of them going into our reality is very clever😊 in an odd and slightly disturbing way🤔💀 The plot twist at the end of part 3 reminded me as well as obviously Blade Runner, it was also very reminiscent of Last Christmas (the Doctor Who Christmas special not the movie)😉

Gotham, season 5
Episode 1 was amazing. The series has had its ups and downs, but the finale season is ticking all the right boxes for a grand conclusion.

Finally caved a few days ago and got Disney+ so I could watch The Mandalorian. Very glad I did - I really liked it! More so than almost any other Star Wars film or show, this truly is a space western with a great sense of humor, great intrigue, and very likable characters. Theoretically having a hero who never shows his face shouldn’t work, but the series so far has been directed in such a way that he still comes across as empathetic and Pedro Pascal plays the role in such a way that the small physical touches really sell it - very Clint Eastwood indeed!
If there’s one criticism I’d be inclined to agree with, it’d be that this series doesn’t necessarily do anything new or different with the Star Wars universe. It’s a largely safe endeavor. However, we don’t often get to see Star Wars stories told on such a small scale as this and I’m glad there’s room in the franchise for things other than galaxy-ending stakes as well.

Been watching Netflix's take on The Witcher today, just started episode 6. It's....a bit all over the map. {Spoiler}Episode 1 was kind of an uninspired pilot episode. Episode 2 was fantastic, exactly what I was hoping for from this show. Episode 3 was okay, a bit monster-of-the-week but then with an absolutely stellar last 10 minutes or so. Episode 4 was a mess. It was like they inexplicably suddenly decided they wanted to do a Westworld 'aren't we clever we were doing multiple timelines!' thing Episode 5 felt like it could've been the season finale, but there are still three episodes to go.
Still there's a lot of potential here, and the production values are quite good. At this point, I feel like I would definitely come back for a second season.
