Mutant X Season 1 Episodes 1-4 A show very much of its time. Lots of slow motion and all the characters are Martial Artists. I probably would have gotten more out of it, if i'd watched it on original broadcast

MASH: Season 3, Episodes 11-13 - Hawkeye orders take-out ribs from Chicago; sends a Dictaphone message to Dad about a crazy Turk; Radar gets bit by a stray dog, so he and Blake track it down to test it for rabies.
Monty Python: Season 4, Episodes 5-6 - Wrapped up our revisit of the Flying Circus with these final two episodes. As much as I will miss the show (again) we've still got 3 movies to look forward to, and really they chose to bow out at a good time. Seasons 3 and 4 weren't as good as the first two, and from these episodes in particular the only bit that's memorable to me is the trilingual post box dedication.

Hello again.
Can I recommend for fans of silly farcical Christmas fun The Goes Wrong Show: The Spirit of Christmas on BBC Iplayer. Excellent example of farce. Also really enjoyed the adaptation, on BBC, of His Dark Materials, Mrs Kernow and I loved it. The acting was first rate, great effects and music. Creepy direction and a well-told story. Oh and those Polar Bears, wonderful!

A Christmas Carol
The new BBC one with Guy Pearce, Steven Graham and Vinette Robinson. I adored every minute of the three episodes. Being "From The Makers Of Peaky Blinders" and airing post-watershed I'm baffled as to why people have been surprised to find it much more adult than previous versions. There are f-words galore, Scrooge tries to solicit Mary Cratchitt and Jacob Marley's jaw literally falls off. But what it's doing, so well, is making the story legitimately scary again as opposed to the cuddly perennial we all know and love with Messrs Simm, Finney, Caine et al.
The genius of this is that in making it "scary", it doesn't try to make the ghosts more scary, as would be obvious, but makes Scrooge himself the monster. He's not just a miser here. He's a truly pitiful man, born of sexual abuse, raped by his headmaster and living life counting numbers to hide his pain. That all sounds really quite too much for A Christmas Carol but again this story shocked Victorian audiences so to replicate that we need to add these new layers.
Indeed it's very much the Scrooge created in the wake of Grenfell and #MeToo. His actions cause deaths of people that could have been avoided and Mary Cratchitt has an empowering womanhood that has never been part of the story but is here. Vinette is even better here than she was as Rosa Parks in Doctor Who. A wonderful actress. She gets the last scene as well. The ending is brave. Scrooge is not damned...but he's not forgiven. No "buy me a goose" here. He's still despised. It's clear he needs to actually atone rather than just say he's going to - and money alone won't buy his salvation. Mary turns to us and breaks the fourth walll at the end and makes it clear the Spirits are always going to be busy. It's a wonderful ending. Just terrifically bold.

Martins Close - the latest in an occasional revival of A Ghost Story for Christmas. Mark Gatiss creates a suitably restrained adaptation of M R James story, with Peter Capaldi. Recognised within a few minutes that it was filmed inside the Moot Hall museum in Aldeburgh. Essentially a few yards away from The White Lion Hotel, which was the setting for A Warning to the Curious short story by M R James. Nice touch.

Following several friends' recommendations, I've started The Witcher,
As has been said above, the first episode was uninspired, but episodes two and three had more substance to them: more interesting characters, more world-building, a few good speeches, and a few sharp moments of genuine pathos. However, it remains to be seen whether the various disparate elements will be effectively tied together in the first season.

The Mandalorian Season finale Episode 8.
WOW. The memes alone for this episode are going to be epic..
What an end to this season.
Can someone just hand the SW keys over to Jon Favreau- he gets it, he understands.

Watching the TOS Episode By Any Other Name and I was struck by an interesting possibility:
The villains of the piece are shape shifting aliens from the Andromeda Galaxy. Through mind meld, Spock ascertains that they are using the human form to hide their true form which consists of lots of tentacles. By episode’s end, the crew have thwarted them using a variation of Kirk’s proven strategy of “snog the alien on to our side” and they take up settlement on the deserted planet they originally found them on.
Now, several hundred years later, the Federation has changed into something a little less forward-thinking and has built a barrier between our galaxy and the Andromedans, in anticipation of a return visit, obviously. The Andromedans, curious to find out what has happened to their peers - and, I forgot to mention, concerned about the radiation that is consuming their Galaxy - have launched an expedition to infiltrate and possibly destroy the humans but they are foiled by the crew of another starship... the Liberator.
I’ve done a quick Google... am I going to have to write this fanfic myself?

Can someone just hand the SW keys over to Jon Favreau- he gets it, he understands. John Favreau gets EVERYTHING. He gets Star Wars, he gets Marvel. He even gets cooking (has anyone seen Chef? I love that film!) AND he can act! He should be much more of a household name than he is. I love that guy.
