The Boys season 3 finale, I love this show R rated, bloody, well written characters, brilliantly acted, twisted & relentless & isn't afraid to take risks.
Karl Urban as Butcher is outstanding, he definitely deserves play Dredd again.

Finally watching the show that, arguably, killed non-Who British sci-fi, Outcasts. Just wrapped it - honestly, I was hoping it'd be 'worse', insofar as it would be interestingly bad, a TV Jupiter Ascending or Zardoz. Instead, it's bad in the way a million other sci-fi dramas tend to be: weak worldbuilding, bloated dialogue and taking forever to get to the point. Outside the novelty of seeing one of the most expensive bombs in British TV history, I don't recommend bothering.

So at a guess it is not 50% discussing faith and being a nice obedient Muslim girl with her dad, her djihadist brother and the teacher at the mosque like the comics are? Because that was what slightly annoyed me about the comics. I get the message. Being a female Muslim superhero is not easy. Just get on with the superhero stuff, all this other stuff was slightly depressing. I know, yes, realism. But I am looking for escapism.

Netflix Resident Evil.
WTF is the nonsensical hokum it has about as much to do with Resident Evil than Sonic The Hedgehog.
Awful awful writing, bland characters & Lance Reddick who is a great actor needs to fire his agent because he deserves better material.
One of the worst TV shows I've ever seen, all Netflix needed to do was adapt the games into story's, I'd love a series that deals with the first game then series 2 deals with the second game etc...
Instead we get this piffle, Weskers daughters breaking into Umbrella a top security research facility & hacking there computers I just lost the plot started laughing hysterically.
I've gone from watching awesome The Boys series 3 to this s.it.
I need a lie down.

I've never read Ms Marvel comics, but the show was really good. Dragged a little bit in the middle, but there's a really up vibe and energy running through the entire series that's hard not to be charmed by. Very happy with it.

Separately, I attempted Netflix's Resident Evil series. And I tried, I really did, but threw in the towel after just two episodes. Every single character in this show is dumb as a bag of hammers. Every plot development and at least 70% of the lines of dialogue are hackneyed and cliché to the point that I was cringing my way through the episodes. Just terrible.

Unfortunately I watched the entire series & currently I'm having to stay in a darkened room listening to my mindfulness relaxation cds on loop to recover from this atrocious series. Netflix are very inconsistent for every awesome show like Cobra Kai & Stranger Things they produce a awful series like this. Nefflux just adapt the games stories into a full series it's not difficult, set series one in the mansion, series 2 the police station etc... that way your introducing new characters and environments & building a bigger story arc so that when the characters all come together there already established.

Netflix Resident Evil is pretty much an abomination and an insult to the Source Material Games and makes The Anderson Resident Evil Fans look faithful in comparison (which is truly saying something) i really hope that Hollywood and Western media really stop doing crap like this and start actually getting people who respect the Source Material of IPs

Such is the curse of video game adaptations, sadly. As we've seen on many, many occasions. The only one I can think of that's pretty much universally well-regarded is Castlevania, and considering how many VG adaptations there have been in the last 25 years, that's a pretty sad statement.

Orville "From Unknown Graves". Wow. I do not know what to say. This season just goes from strength to strength. This is again an amazing episode which hits you in the feels on so many levels. We are also back to at least some of the trademark humor of previous seasons, and there is a bit more comedy in this. However, it is not played entirely for laughs and for every little joke, it also gives you something serious to think about. Honestly, this show borders on the philosophical. Amazing.
I also got the audio book read by Bruce Boxleitner which came out this week and look forward to listening to it.
Without any doubt, Orville is my favorite show at the moment. I just hope we get more of it and hopefully also more expanded material, like books and comics and audios. The comics so far also have been exceptional.

It is much more serious, less of the juvenile humor (some of the early episodes were just blown up jokes, albeit with an important message. I am NOT a fan of juvenile humor, as you might be aware- it always makes me gringe) and the society comparisons and messages are much less on the nose that previously. Yes, some of it is still a bit heavy handed, but less in the face and better handled. They are getting the hang of it.
Many of the stories also make me cry, so they seem to get me emotionally invested, something that has not happened it season 1.
Yes, I admit, they do steal a lot from Star Trek, however, they also seem to improve upon it.
