First three episodes of House of the Dragon.
I’ve only seen the first episode of Game of Thrones but have friends that swear by it and they wanted to start watching this. Pretty well written all in all. Will try to watch more.

The Last Man on Earth Last episode of Season 4. Shame it got cancelled, but it was a great ride, and mostly left things off in a good place. Who knows, maybe it'll even get a follow-up some day.

"A Charlie Brown Christmas", yesterday. It's not the big thing in the UK that it is in the US, so I'm not sure if I've ever seen it before, but thanks to an faceless conglomerate it's available on demand to tell its story of Charlie Brown's seeking the true and non-commercialised meaning of Christmas (in the revised version, with corrected animation, and no Coca-Cola sponsership tags).
Then today, "It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown" which pretty much opens with Franklin accusing Charlie Brown of giving in to crass commercialisation. And whereas in the first film the pivotal scene is Linus reciting from the Bible, the sequel has his speech defeaned by Sally complaining about the cost of buying presents (her ideal expenditure is $nil). I'm not sure if the second film was a deliberate parody or satire on the original.

Rather than sleep, I impulsively decided to binge Years and Years last night. And it was incredible. Everything I loved about Russell T. Davies’ writing and a fine example of him at his best! A couple of things here and there I was a little “ehh” on (especially the whole transhumanism bit, that felt like it was saying something very problematic to me for a while) but on the whole I just couldn’t put the show down.
Until. That. Finale.
Wow, this one did not stick the landing. It literally felt like I was watching another show. Like going from Torchwood Children of Earth to a weak Doctor Who Christmas special. I don’t regret watching the show because for the most part it’s just utterly gripping, but that last episode just… ughh!

Inside Number 9 “The Bones of St Nicholas” Another excellent festive offering from Shearsmith and Pemberton. Oh wow, I didn't even realize there had been a seventh series earlier this year, much less a new holiday episode. Got some catching up to do!

Consider this a lovely surprise for the festive season then! Still one of the finest series on television.

A Ghost Story for Christmas
"Count Magnus" (2022)
Very slowpaced but in my opinion a much better offering than "The Mezzotint" of last year.
I can only wonder what next year's offering will be. Casting the Runes, perhaps? Or even an adaptation of one of E.F. Benson's works? Personally, I'd love to see the likes of Saki, Amelia Edwards or even Robert Aickman given the Gatiss treatment.

Courtesy of BBC Iplayer, I’ve been watching “M.I. High”
The acting from the child leads isn’t great (then again, what do you expect?) but it’s good fun and reminds me a lot of The Avengers.
To be honest, it wouldn’t surprise me if in a few years when we get all nostalgic about the Noughties, this and Primeval being given the Big Finish treatment.
Bit surprised to hear it only ended less than a decade ago as well!

Finally caved in and bought the DVD set of "All Creatures Great and Small". It was a favorite of mine when I was a kid, and during my long stressful years at university, watching the series (together with my friends) was like a ray of sunshine and a breath of fresh air. I have most of it taped on VHS from back in the day, but since the VHS player has gone the way of the Dodo, DVD it has to be. Also, if I ever attend a convention again that features Peter Davison, he most definitely will have to sign this box. I already had a great time chatting with him on how they made the series, and we had a wonderful moment of reminiscing on how wonderful it is, on a cold morning, outside on a wet paddock, to have your arm up the warm and cozy rear of a cow. Pure and utter nostalgia overdose. Will also cheer me up and give me something to watch, no idea when (if ever) the internet at my place will be fixed (and no, I am not the most patient person as you might have gathered)

Nearly caught up on all latest episodes of NCIS Hawaii.. I actually saw a place that we went to in the episode (we all went overseas on a quarter-life crisis tour of USA and Canada in June/July 2000 which included a mini tour of the Twin Towers (Did 3 days in Hawaii and accidentally drove up to 1 of the military bases and were greeted with legit soldiers with automatic weapons)

Wednesday was very entertaining. Slightly different from the Addams Family movies, yet in many ways is also a faithful yet fresh update to its predecessors. Excited for season 2!
Announced today, renewed for Season 2 on Netflix! Yaaay!!! 🎉😄🥳

Wife and I for over 15 years did the weekly watch of "Supernatural".. We are now up to episode 6 of "The Winchesters". A prequel set in 1972 of how Sam and Dean's parents 1st met.. John Winchester has literally bumped into Mary who already had a little crew of Hunters. Episode 5 was very topical about PTSD with Veterans.. John Winchester signed up to the Marines when he was underage (forged signature) and got out 2 years later after experiencing hell on earth as humans are the real monsters.. Hopefully we get a couple more seasons .. The actor playing John Winchester looks like Jared Padalecki, who play Sam. It's great casting .

A few things on the go right now...
Rewatching Futurama, nearly done with that. One airing season / half a production season remaining.
Been on a bit of a nature documentary kick lately. So far I've watched Blue Planet (1, for the first time) and am a bit more than half through Planet Earth (1, rewatch). Got a heap more BDs and 4Ks of BBC NHU series to re/watch once I'm finished with this one.
Season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch started up the other day with a pair of episodes. Really strong start. I'm ever so slightly wary because the beginning and end were the only parts of season 1 that excited me, but at the same time I'm cautiously optimistic because I find that most SW animated series have a meh first season before finding their feet in their second. Fingers crossed.
Also, after finally watching Avatar: The Last Airbender for the first time ever a couple of years ago, I am now finally watching The Legend of Korra (finished off season 1 earlier today). It's going to be hard to top the magnificence that was ATLA, but so far I am quite impressed with Korra.

Up to episode 9 in House of the Dragon. This is all very good.
Weird how they go to such lengths to age up the cast as appropriate except for Matt Smith though. Like, he looks barely a day older than episode 1.
I guess maybe I should look into actually watching Game of Thrones.
