Was hankering for a bit more Picard, so went back to Two of One from last season. Still one of the best individual episodes of the series, and it’s such a joy that unlike Season 1, we get such fun moments like Jurati/Allison Pill belt out Shadows of the Night.

Star Trek : Picard S3 - eps 1 - 5
Well..I went there. The enthusiasm on the forum piqued my interest so I binge watched the current season (so far) this weekend.
What an improvement.
There are some issues with pacing, leaps of logic within the plot and I will never get used to the idea of the noble Captain Picard developing a potty mouth in his old age..but the writing and acting has more than made up for it this time round.
Lets hope they can maintain the momentum.

Finally giving Penny Dreadful a chance.
So far, it’s really scratching that League of Extraordinary Gentlemen itch.

Superman & Lois S03E02.
WOW.. They just opened up the doors on a season long real-world serious problem which I won't spoil.
It's something that Superman can't fix.

Ted Lasso, Season 3, episode 2. This one has the funniest bit of physical comedy I've seen in ages. Ha ha ha ha!!!
To tell the truth, with all the rumors of trouble getting this season made, I was concerned that it would be lacking. But so far, it's just as great as the first two seasons. All hail Coach Lasso and crew. BELIEVE!

Working my way through the first series of Blindspot. ooh.. that was a great show at the start. Drinking game, everytime the lead FBI actor drops his fake American accent (he is an Aussie).

Mandalorian S3EP6 this season been awful & very disappointing, Djin sidelined, Grogu barely used, stunt cast cameos, no structure to the story arc & its become The Bo Katan Show.
Two outstanding series then we get this rubbish.
This show desperately needs to get its act together.

So that's not saying much.

I like that "The Mandalorian" doesn't just need to be Pedro Pascal though - Bo Katan, The Armorer, Grogu...since the title isn't Djinn - I'm happy with the side-step episodes. They build massively on Clone Wars and Rebels. What I didn't like was the ep about the clone doc just to set up that the woman we didn't trust before...still can't be trusted. And I HATE that every season has the one ep (as did Boba Fett) that is ENTIRELY about the threat posed by one big creature/monster. When Han figured out the Falcon was in a creatures mouth, we didn't spend half an hour fighting it.
But hey - we're in bizarro world this year - Mandalorian is being SPANKED by Picard which has been fantastic after two absymal seasons.

Part 8 - Some of the dialogue was a bit clunky, there were a couple of logic leaps and the denouement for the villain was (for me at least) slightly soured by the use of the most ridiculous plot device since the installation of a joystick on the bridge of the Enterprise 'E'...but Picard - Season 3 is still extremely enjoyable and ticking all the right nostalgia boxes.
Great that the likes of McFadden, Dorn, Burton and Sirtis have had their time to shine, I wish someone had given Spiner a couple of lines about "having no strings to hold him down" or "being a real live boy" (😁), Frakes has been so damn likeable as Riker this time and Stewart has almost slipped back into the role of elder statesman. The conference table scene was a bit cheesy..but I was still grinning like a goofy idiot all the way through. Amanda Plummer did her father proud in the scenery chewing stakes (though both were still a long way behind Ricardo Montalban..), Jack, the La Forge sisters and the junior Titan crew are rapidly growing on me (if Osgood can have a 'twin', then so can ***** - that's all I'm saying!) and now that my personal theory over the season's overall villain is going down in flames faster than the......damn it Jim! I'm actually enjoying Star Trek again! This isn't how it's supposed to be! Its fun to speculate who or what the big bad might be or how in the hell they are going to resolve this in two episodes!
All of which yet again begs a question : Haven't seen season 2, but why oh why we didn't get this two years ago? Actually...why didn't we get this twenty one years ago?
