I think that given the events of Brexit and the US election now would be a good time for a Klein comeback . Big Finish could still stay apolitical to modern political affairs but highlight the dichotomy between Klein and the Doctor. The original Klein trilogy was really great . But this idea would enable storys with an underlying subtext. It would also allow writers to make subtle analogys without having to make heavy handed moral, ethical or political points. It doesn't necessarily have to be as black and white as the original Daleks representing Nazis, it can be subtle shades of grey.

Unfortunately in later Classic TV Dr Who Davros became a ranting charactature of himself . Big Finish has come a long way in trying to redress this but making Davros & the Daleks coloured in shades of grey. In particular #48 Davros is brilliant and allows Davros to shine without being in the shadow of his Daleks.

This would also allow ideas that created some of the best Big Finish stories and allowed them to be their most creative eg # 48 Davros is one of the very best and #74 Live 34 is surely one of the most original & creative

I'd love a third Klein trilogy to round her story.
I didn't despise the second trilogy the way that others did, but I saw their points and it really wasn't anywhere near the heights of The Architects of History.
Horrifying that the reason for this thread is "Xenophobia is very in right now" but these are the times we live in.

I would certainly be receptive to another Klein arc. Her first trilogy was what really convinced me that Big Finish was on to something special, because I didn't know what she was going to do.

Horrifying that the reason for this thread is "Xenophobia is very in right now" but these are the times we live in. I never thought I'd say this, but we need the Daleks now more than ever. I'd like to see something set between A Thousand Tiny Wings and Survival of the Fittest, I really enjoyed her earlier appearances where she refused to be cowed by the Doctor's morality in any way. Her characterisation's beautiful, a eugenicist who is still treated by the writers as a human being. She's been constructed in such a way that we still like her, despite her abhorrent views and practices. It makes for a deeply interesting Doctor/companion dynamic. She's one of writer Steve Lyons's best creations and one of my favourite companions. Schrodinger's cat has claws and knows how to use them.

More Klein is always welcome, she is a great character. So I'd certainly have no problem with a 'comeback' from my favourite Nazi!

Yeah I'm hoping we get a new trilogy with her in 2017 to follow up on the cliffhanger at the end of her last set and give some closure to the whole umbrella man thing. Finishing with a UNIT story would be a nice way to wrap it up.

I wouldn't mind Klein returning, but the Klein from the main timeline isn't as interesting a character as Nazi Klein.

I wouldn't mind Klein returning, but the Klein from the main timeline isn't as interesting a character as Nazi Klein. Yeah but isn't her story really done with 7? As far as that timeline is concerned? I would not be opposed to more 7th Doctor/Klein adventures but I would rather hear her with 8. Then you really can play with that Nazi timeline in potentially interesting ways.

I was relistening to Colditz just today (an absolute classic) and I'd definitely love more Klein stories. She's a gem of a character and as long as the keep the Nazi timeline stuff relevant to her character, she'll always be interesting. Whether it's another story with the Doctor or an appearance in the new UNIT series, I'd pay to hear more from her.
