So just thinking about this, what books from BBC's Eighth Doctor Adventures series do people think could be adapted easily say for Audio or Animated DVD Adventures without having to drastically change the story?
If little bits were cut thats fine as that happens in adaptation, but i mean without hugely changing the story, because of arc plots

I reckon anything after Escape Velocity, but before Time Zero would be pretty fair game. There are a great number of Steve Cole edited stories like Option Lock, Genocide or The Janus Conjunction which read almost like novelisations of television scripts that'd be fair game too.

I've read maybe 50 of them and I could see most of them being adapted into audio/animated scripts easily enough, the main problem would be cutting and compressing the plot (you'd be able to retain the essence and tone of the writing easily enough, but not perhaps the 'flesh on the bones' as it were), but some of the more popular or arc heavy stories (such as Alien Bodies, The Year Of Intelligent Tigers, Demontage, The Ancestor Cell, The Scarlet Empress, Interference) are very visual, quite long and heavily descriptive (how would they do the Shift on audio without it feeling unnatural?), clash with B.F or TV continuity (can't see the BBC being overly keen to publicize the existence of a another time war, maybe the adapters could tweak it so it was one and the same conflict) and maybe hard to get the rights to.
That said, if Big Finish did eventually get the rights to the range some day, I'd probably end up buying all the stories all over again, it would be an absolute joy and privilege to hear McGann bring to life stories as diverse and brilliant as Father Time, Seeing I, Hope, The Scarlet Empress or The Year Of Intelligent Tigers etc, plot changes or compression are necessary in any adaption, but as I've been working my way through the EDA's I've often been mentally hearing how a hypothetical BF audio version with McGann and Di Angelo would sound...

Apparently, the latest two Big Finish cd Novel releases (Original Sin and Cold Fusion) are the last! The last for the forseeable future (they don't have the rights to the BBC ranges anyway, so it's a moot point), Gallifrey and Iris Wildthyme were thought to have ended at one point, and came back a few years later, so you never know. BF are very busy with the New Who ranges anway, which seem to be selling well so it makes sense to switch focus. I suppose any hypothetical Resurrection of the Novel Adaptations range would depend on how well the existing adaptions sell/which authors are interested in having their books adapted, the titles they've gone for so far are (as I understand things, haven't read any of the Virgin books) really popular novels, there's dozens of Who novels and not all of them would sell very well.

Yeah I get you. for me some of the ones I've read that could be done are: Vampire Science, BodySnatchers, The Taint and Escape Velocity.
I've only read bits about the story but To the Slaughter could be done as well actually

Which is a shame really as there are a couple more VNA/MA's they could do, but i suppose for now we can treat them as done and if they end up doing more in the future its a fantastic bonus

I've only read bits about the story but To the Slaughter could be done as well actually Ooh, hey, we could have a version of The Bodysnatchers with both Jago and Litefoot. That'd be rather interesting. The gore of the story would give it a very Project: Twilight kind of feeling, so maybe Cavan Scott and/or Mark Wright could have taken a swing at adapting it? Which is a shame really as there are a couple more VNA/MA's they could do, but i suppose for now we can treat them as done and if they end up doing more in the future its a fantastic bonus I hope they give Travis Oliver and Yasmine Bannerman opportunities to read the new audiobooks that are coming out as they did for Lisa Bowerman and Human Nature.

Or even read some of the more stand-alone and family friendly New Adventures.

After all, one of her first appearances in Big Finish was The Bride of Peladon.

After all, one of her first appearances in Big Finish was The Bride of Peladon. The marketing department missed a trick when releasing the DVDs. If the BBC Books re-released a title closely related to a DVD being released at the time, say Legacy and the Peladon Tales box set, then they could have done some cross-promotion. Doctor Who was at a marketing high at that period, with so much merchandise. Want more Peladon? Check out Legacy! Ice Warriors, a secret passage riddled citadel, high priests and Aggedor!
