I bought the first three doom coalition box sets for £20 each, either on pre-order or special BF price.
I have just noticed that the prices for these are now £35/£40.
I think this is rather steep for 4 hours of content. I don't know that I would spend that as a first time purchaser of Big Finish.

The best thing to do is, unless your a download listener, go on eBay or Amazon and you can find theme cheap. Or wait for a sale.

I do download mostly and there are very few audios I have not bought direct from Big Finish.
I'm just wondering what other people think of the prices.

According to the news piece: The £35/£40 prices aren't introduced until May, which means there's still plenty of time to pick it up for £20!

Yeah if they didn't have the pre-order/bundle prices I wouldn't be able to justify purchasing them, obviously making the audios is expensive and they are still pretty niche products but BF is getting more and more exposure amongst the fanbase and I honestly think if they lowered their prices they'd end up making more money and customers, I post at a couple of other Who forums occasionally and I've recommended BF to people but they've often been put off by the price, if you can get a DVD or Blu Ray of a whole TV series for twenty or thirty quid/dollars but are expected to pay $40 for a audio boxset I think it's obvious what alot of people who do, especially as Audio drama is still quite a niche format outside Europe. Again I'm not blaming BF for selling stuff at these prices, as they obviously have small profit margins and a well practiced business model that works but I can't help but wonder if they are still stuck in the mindset of writing audios for the wilderness years adult crowd willing to pay those prices because they had no other option, rather than a growing pool of younger customers brought in by curiosity and used to cheaper prices... Almost all the audios I've bought were on sale or pre-order prices, I have a much smaller budget than others may do for BF audios, but even so if the prices were cheaper I'd be more likely to buy more stories... I'm rather surprised than MR 50-100 haven't been reduced yet as those stories are all nearing a decade old.
