Just saw on their Twitter feed that The Havoc Files 3 is now available for order - it is a limited run, so order soon if you want this for your collection.
This is a very enjoyable series and a nice look into the Brig's pre-UNIT days.

I haven't read any of them yet. I'm wary of how long it'll take for the books to get to the point where UNIT has been formed because it could drag if there's fifteen books of the pre-UNIT Brigadier.

Candy Jar Books isn't licensed through the BBC so these books are highly unlikely to ever feature UNIT. There is also no direct reference to the Doctor - he is referred to by the codename of Cosmic Hobo most of the time.
There have been a few mentions of Air Marshal "Chunky" Gilmore, but many other characters such as Kate can't be mentioned due to Candy Jar not having rights to use them.

Surely they could reference Lethbridge-Stewart being with a top secret taskforce though and start calling him by 'Brigadier'?

It's been indicated that the Brigadier's current pre-UNIT force continues to exist covertly after he's appointed to run UNIT, so it's possible we might get novels chronicling what he gets up to between televised adventures. There's also been a short story or so set after his retirement.
(Must put my name down for Havoc #3. The novels are of variable quality, as you'd expect from a series by different authors, but the serial that started in vol. 2 had the best writing of all).

Are the Havoc Files important tot the other Lethbridge-Stewart books? meaning do i need to to understand stuff going on? Most of the stories in the book are short stories released as downloads exclusive to those who buy the books directly from Candy Jar Books.
I don't really think they are necessary to follow what is happening in the books. Though, if you follow the Lethbridge-Stewart twitter feed they do make some of those stories available and some can be found on their website for download.

I think all they books are available on Kindle - Havoc Files as well.

I've talked to them about the huge cost difference between U.K. pricing and the rest of the world. From what they said it is the cost of shipping that kills them on the international orders. They are supposed to be looking into ways to make it more enticing for international customers to order direct, but understand that a large chunk of the international customer base buy the books from Book Depository.

From what they said it is the cost of shipping that kills them on the international orders. The real TRUTH of this matter is that Candy Jar *makes a profit* on the postage fees that they charge their international customers. Candy Jar charges £7.99 shipping to Canada for a £8.99 Lethbridge-Stewart novel. That book will then be sent within the most basic jiffy bag (without any extra padding) with the utilization of a £4.75 Royal Mail standard speed delivery postage stamp.

Ok, I don't do downloads, but I want the Havoc Files. Will they be coming out with a compilation cd set?
BF showed they don't want all my money because they don't put the short trips on cd anymore, so I buy cd's from folks who burn them for me(Is that illegal?).
I really much rather have the actual cd from the publisher, but if they don't want to sell me what I want, well?

You are able to take the items you have purchased and do what you want with them for personal use. So anyone who is making cd's of them and then selling them is breaking the law.

Big Finish's FAQ'S confirm that is acceptable. The key is that BF should end up with the money not your friend, otherwise where's the incentive for them to make more.

I don't buy downloads, I buy cd's. B. If I wanted to burn my own cd's I wouldn't buy them from others. C. If BF wants my money, then have them burn the cd, and i'll buy it from them.(i'll suggest that to them, but I suspect it makes far to much sense.) D. Since it's illegal, who fines me when I buy burnt cd's, in other words, what is the penalty for buying cd's from other folks who burnt them? (And who is going to impose that penalty?) Not trying to be a smarta** but a law with no consequences for breaking, is not really a law, it's more like faith. E. If BF isn't willing to give me, the consumer, what I want. I will find other ways to get what I want, because, I can afford it, and there are a lot of choices out there, who are willing to give me what I want. BF needs to learn how to make money, and that's by making the consumer(all of them) as happy as they can(like sending the first 50 MR back to print) Please understand, I speak bluntly, I don't see the point of trying to pussyfoot around issues, and this is the way I think.

I appreciate your directness. Let me be equally blunt - you're wrong. The fact that it's incredibly unlikely you'll ever be prosecuted does not make what you're doing right.
