My guess is that they're going to have to limit it to one entry per person or something along those lines, because it's only going to get more daunting with every year.

Oh, well, I suppose there are only so many pseudomorphic cephalopods around the BF office. Congrats to those who had the courage/time to enter and best of luck to those who might still be in the running.

According to this weeks' podcast, a winner has yet to be selected Did they happen to mention anything else? I'm glad it seems like we're at the end. Someone's going to be very happy this week. They are going to have a job on their hands if it gets more popular each year. Yeah. My guess is that they're going to have to limit it to one entry per person or something along those lines, because it's only going to get more daunting with every year. Which is fair enough. I mean, you only submitted the one, right? Personally, I initially planned to submit three, but I eventually realized that if I only had one chance in my life to do Doctor Who, *this* was the story I wanted to write.

I had half-formed plans for a second story but they never went anywhere.

I only focused on one story because it was the one that kept pushing to the front of my mind

The more I read through my entry I more I dislike it. That's a pretty normal phase in creative writing. Imagine trying to write a 120,000 word book where every ten thousand words your brain is telling you its rubbish. My advice is to find someone to throw it to when you get the opportunity or take a step back for a couple daysso you can rekindle that enthusiasm.

I run a writing society at uni and I don't believe anything I've written is any good until someone tells me it is. XD

It's workable and once you're able to overcome (most of) the doubt, it really does wonders for your voice in prose. You can really feel that transfer onto the page when rereading it. It's more about retraining your mind away from being paralysed by the thought that you shouldn't write and more towards utilising that anxiety as a springboard to write the very best you possibly can.

You need to think you have good ideas to write stuff in the first place. Especially to enter a competition. So I have some self belief.

I'd say more than some and in this case, I'd say it's less belief in a good idea and more belief that one can execute it. I certainly have doubts about whether I can do it sometimes.
