Read this novel and boy was I surprised with how well 8 was characterized. Making an alliance with the vampires and seeing the gold just seems something 8 would do. Just improved an already great novel in my opinion.

It was a fantastic read and a better introduction to the EDA's than The Eight Doctors was. Sam has plenty of character and the Doctor's reactions when she is hurt just sells it. You can imagine McGann doing it superbly on screen

I'm not a fan of the TV Movie feel, but I love how enthusiastic Orman and Blum seemed to be when they were writing it, there's this buzz of energy from the Eighth Doctor that really carries you through it. This is a man in the moment and truly alive.

I remember reading this directly after The Eight Doctors all those many years ago, and although I enjoyed Terrance's story a lot more than others seemed to, it was Vampire Science that really delivered the goods as to what the new BBC novels were capable of. It was the beginning of a particularly good run of books too, and made me aware that Kate Orman and Jonathan Blum were names to look out for. A terrific story. Needless to say, it would have made a brilliant BF audio.

I didn't make it very far into the EDAs, but I loved Vampire Science. I don't remember a lot of the details anymore, but I remember that it was really good.
