I'm only on my second and I'm 49 so about 20 years each.
They're only card wallets though. Cash used to go in my pocket when I had any. These days I can go weeks without having any cash on me

I'm guessing men's wallets don't last as long as women's, cause men generally carry them in their pockets, where they get more wear and tear. Women usually have their wallets in a purse. So I asked my husband how long he's had his wallet and he said, "Years. At least 10 years." His problem is not his wallet wearing out so much as the pocket of his trousers in which he puts his wallet having a hole rubbed in it because of the wallet. I empty out my wallet every couple of weeks precisely for this reason: it prevents the wallet from bulging and stretching and it doesn't make some interesting wear and tear marks on my back pocket. As a person who spends a bit of time writing things on a whiteboard in front of a captive audience, I'm a little conscious of how I look from the back. Makes sense. My husband empties most of the loose change out of his wallet on a regular basis - he has a regular pile of change on his desk! - but his pocket still rips, eventually.
