Okay, I'm really impressed. This feels nice, it's got a lovely sense of purpose and forward motion to it. Having Bill come aboard as a companion who's actually enjoying her travels with the Doctor, Nardole who feels like one of those unconventional companions like Turlough or the Shalka!Master and a fairly intense Twelfth Doctor who looks as though he's finally found his footing... Yep, it all clicks together. I'm cautiously optimistic, dare say looking forward to it. I really hope it stays cohesive for the actual season. Come on...

Now, now! Let's not get carried away! This trailer was more Harry Potter than Doctor Who. Capaldi didn't say a word, and fans are somehow already confident in his performance. It also doesn't help that fans are suggesting that Bill will die at the end of the series. She's not even done an episode, yet! But, we've had red herrings before with Rose and her, "this is the story of how I died" speech, and she didn't!

Nardole who feels like one of those unconventional companions like Turlough or the Shalka!Master Or Adam Mitchell.... Could it be another companion who's not cut out to be a companion? Although Nardole didn't seem like that in The Return of Doctor Mysterio, so who knows?

I'm hoping for a nice balance between companions, an optimist and a pessimist each with the Doctor right in the middle.

I really don't think number five is a Weeping Angel. Her face looks too animated.

I don't think it's a Weeping Angel either. With the ancient Roman styled curled hair, I wonder if it's an Axon?

Daleks, Cybermen and Ice Warriors are already confirmed. Well... Series 9 had Daleks, Davros and Missy Episode 1 and 2. The return of the species from the God Complex in 3 and 4. The Fires Of Pompeii stuff in Episode 5. Zygons in Episode 7 and 8. A ton of creatures in 10. And Time-Lords in 12. It's not an impossible leap. As for as we know for series 10... {Spoiler} Daleks are apparently Episode 1. Emojis are Episode 2. Water Monster is Episode 3. Wood creature is Episode 4. Spacesuits are Episode 5. Truth Creatures are Episode 8. Ice Warriors are Episode 9. Romans are Episode 10. Those are confirmed. I'd say, providing the Cybermen are in 6 or 7, then it wouldn't be a leap for the Weeping Angels in the finale. Or it could be vice versa.

Have to admit, I cringed at the 'Time for Heroes' tagline. Felt a little too super hero-ey, for my liking.

Eh, there's a difference between staying with the times and being on brand, though. The Doctor really isn't a traditional super hero - it just feels someone at the BBC was screaming: "Got to get the super hero audience in! Kids love super heroes!"
I do love the trailer, though. Bill can't get here soon enough and A NEW KIND OF ICE WARRIOR!!!

I quite like it. After all, didn't the Christmas special remind us that not all heroes need capes? If it said "A time for superheroes", fair commentm...but I don't think Marvel or DC have the monopoly on the use of the term "hero".

Families are more likely to watch if they see the Doctor as a superhero.

Curious to see whether it's the same trailer that was leaked a few days ago...

Did anyone see The Last Leg covering this trailer. They pointed out the trailer is basically Last Leg's opening credit sequence. If you play Last Leg's music over it the resemblance is unmistakable.

Can't they announce the next Doctor whilst they're at it too?

Can't they announce the next Doctor whilst they're at it too? No. That would undercut Capaldi's last season. No announcement until between that and the special please.
